According to this (link in arabic), the egyptian parliament just ammended the criminal offenses law to include an ammendments that allows the egyptian judicial authorities the right to pursue and try anyone who insults, attacks or defames religion. The new law establishes a 100,000 EGP fine against any one who attacked, criticisized, defamed or mocked- using writing or drawing- any Prophet or religion. It was presented by the MB MP's and the government approved it.
Freedom was right , the Taliban are not coming to Egypt. They are already here!

This is troubling. If an Egyptian blogger is prosecuted under this law, it is unlikely the Western media would even take notice. The blogs aren’t even supportive enough when their fellow bloggers are in trouble.
I would guess if they decide to charge a blogger under these new laws they would test them out on a low profile blogger first to see what kind of reaction they get from the “free speech” forces in the west.

I had been wondering about the person behind the latest obnoxious troll to be splatting all over the blogosphere. (He’s been worse on a couple of other blogs, at least once creating three identities and holding conversations with himself.)
But the “ZOG” line was the tip-off. We have a baby neo-Nazi here, probably midway between the stage of picking an obnoxious political stance so that when people hate him (as he, for whatever childhood reason, expects they will) he can explain it away, through the ‘gee it’s fun to play dress-up’ stage. What scares me is that a few of them have gone onto the ‘grab a gun and start shooting at all the people who were mean to him’ stage (see Columbine).
Ordinarily I’d be against something like this, but because of the number of incidents like Columbine, I’d really like someone to trace down where he’s writing from and contact the school authorities to watch this guy.

Some of the reason for this law is quite simply that THE MUSLIM POPULATION HAVE BEEN MISLED BY THE DANISH IMAMS who were in Egypt in 2005. They presented a false image of what is going on in Denmark.
