A short comment about the story.

The sitting man who received the punch is current Minister of Healthcare (a socialist). Despite his medical education, he is a very rude and foul-mouthed person, constantly offending others. This time he made rude remarks about the other man’s marriage.

The standing man who gave him the punch is a former politician (and a former dentist) of a centrist party, who is known as the black sheep of the Czech politics in every sense of this word. He had a lot of public mistresses, is very rich (but attempts to prosecute him for frauds have failed - there seems to be no substantial evidence, so maybe he did not really swindle in his businesses) and likes to show his wealth, his addiction to culture (maybe rather snobbish) and his libertarian attitudes very much. For this, many people in Czechia just cannot stand him at all. This time, when hearing the other man’s comment about his marriage, he promised publicly on his Czech weblog to have a satisfaction upon him at the first possible occassion.

This occassion happened to be the congress of Czech dental doctors, by the way :-))

I do not like hitting people without asking the host’s permission first, but the general idea shared by a lots of Czech people is that the rude man got what he deserved for already a long time. There was a lot of applause upon this act.

(By the way, Czech printed media, who are often pro-socialist, omitted the applause and wrote that the auditorium booed. That is not the truth. The auditorium later booed at the minister).
