The PA against Hezbollah?

Here is a story on the arab Foreign ministers meeting, and something surprising came from it today. The FM's argued over Hezbollah and his actions, lead by the Saudi Foreign Minister. The camp backing him up, however, had one interesting and surprising member:

Supporting his stance were representatives of Egypt,
Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq, the Palestinian Authority, the United Arab
Emirates and Bahrain, delegates said on condition of anonymity because
of the sensitivity of the talks.

The Palestinian Authority in the camp against Hezbollah?

LOL

This just keeps getting weirder by bthe minute

None of this is making any sense. I sit here in my Air/Conditioned apartment and ponder…….”why”. What does it all mean. Seriously these chain of events are deserving of a documentary to explain it all. Also I think the leaders in the region are getting scared over the possible implications that they support anyone who is anti-israel and they are rushing to kiss Israels pucker. Thats the only thing i can guess as far as the Palestinian Authority condeming Hizbollah.

Listen, you can’t talk big about how you’re all set to beat and destory Israel, and then scream “Humanatarian crisis” when they hit you back. Either suffer the consequences of your actions or stop posing

Did you post this on a guardian article where you’re allowed to comment?

Why should that be a surprise, before the first kidnapping, the PA and Hamas were killing each other in the streets and fighting over who got the money that was being given to them. The PA does’nt want Hamas anymore than anyone else that is sane does.

Then along comes Hezbollah, screwing up the money flow from anybody, threatening the whole area and pissing Israel off even more, which could mean never getting any of their precious land back.

The PA, Hamas and Hezbollah have lost any gains that they may have made and stand to lose it all. They had better hope Syria will get attacked by Israel, so that Big Bad Bubba Iran will wipe Israel off the map.

Shobrawy, I think some of the members of the Arab League sense a big one coming. If it does, most of the Ancient Regimes in the Middle East could be history when it’s over. For them, the status quo is preferable. This nonsense has been going on for 60 years, or more. It’s time to assign it to history, and I think most of the old guard can see the writing on the wall.

This event (kidnapping of an Israeli soldier) reminds me of June 28, 1914. In and of itself, it may have been an insignificant diplomatic tiff, but taken into the 60 year context, it’s the last straw. Why on earth would the rest of the world want the status quo in the Middle East to continue any longer.

    Shobrawy,

Had a quick look at your blog. Here is just one extract:

“Israel is using the kidnapping as an excuse to attack its neighbors, nothing more, they couldn’t be happier about their soldiers getting kidnapped.”

I have to say it: I admire your balanced insights.

Doha, the Lebanese Blogger is posting the latest from where he is. I hope most of it is just rumor.

    Shlemazl,

Had a quick look at your comment.

I have to say it: I admire your lame sarcasm.

  9. D.B. Shobrawy Says:

Vince, God bless you sir, you are the voice of reason. Shlemazl, if you really want a ballanced view look at the rest of my posts. Dont take one sentence out of context.

    Shobrawy,

I did look at the rest. Most of your posts are about sport. As for your latest post… The only sentiment that makes any sense whatsoever is the title. Everything else… Sorry, I don’t want to hijack BP’s blog.

    Vince,

Thank you! Glad you like it.

I can do even better. Have a look here.

  12. shlemazl Says:

Sorry, Vince - the link is broken. This one should work for you.

  13. Vince Says:

Nice comeback, douche. I’m guessing the link, if it had worked, would have been a lame picture or cartoon indicating that I should shut up. What may have worked as an effective comeback, however, would have been typing the words “shut up”.

  14. shlemazl Says:

    Vince:

That would have been way too easy. Shame I couldn’t do the link properly. That’s because I am a “douche” and shlemazl too. I’ll have one more go. Vince, please click here

  15. shlemazl Says:

Still not working! Would you believe it? Well, I am a dourche, but I don’t give up that easy. How about this attempt, Vince?

[...] UPDATE: Big Pharaoh also sees this as very unusual, and maybe trouble for Hezbollah. Rantings Of A Sandmonkey as well. Vital Perspective also sees the conflict as unusual. [...]

It is not really weird. I even believe that Haniye of Hamas is not happy with what is happening now - as there is the chances that the Palestinian people have to pay a big price for this (I mean,.. who wants a neighbour which is continuously violent and attacking them?). But Haniye is just a political puppet; the military Hamas is the one in charge (ruled from out of Damascus by Mashal) and those military wings - which are also in Gaza and Westbank - are and were in a continuous fight (even during the Gaza raid of the IDF!!) with Fatah. Now,.. of course the PA is against Hezbollah and is against that moron in Damascus.

Not that they, themselves, are kosher, but at least edible ;)

Good job numbnuts, four broken links. And yes, your still a douche.
