Its truly sick. The only rational I can give (and its a weak one) is that these families believe the bombs are headed for terrorists, and not innocent women and children like the celebrations that take place on the streets in Gaza when civilians get suicide bombed.

“To Nasrallah with love”. That seems like well-directed and focused emotion to me. They’re not out there drooling at the prospect of destroying an entire country for ideology the way Nasrallah is. And they would never be doing that at all if Israel had never been attacked, would they?

I read an interview with one refusniks in Israel, the cousin of Benjamin Netanyahu, few days ago. Among other things he said that it is a habitual practice in Israel to take school children to visit military sites and have a close experience with tanks, arms and even fighter jets. Perhaps the Israelis start military training at a very early age. Building the brave fighter who will drop a 500 lb bomb on a residential area needs a lot of psychological training in his/her childhood I guess, otherwise the human part in him/her might wake up and makes the mission of burning children difficult.

While I don’t condone this, didn’t Olmert recently request a ceasefire? And it was refused? Again, allowing children to view war as a trivial and/ or funny issue is depraved, but after you try to take a step towards a resolution and someone tells you to F* the hell off, I can see why some people may feel like Hezballah gets what it deserves.

This goes back to the Napoleanic wars when British sailors would mark “post paid” on cannon balls. Its part of the warrior’s spirit and esprit de corps. But, at the same time, the children shouldn’t be that close to the ordinance at all, let alone be writing the messages themselves. They’re too young to be involved. Being a target at age 7 is a scary thing and plays into the quote of Golda Meir above about what we can’t forgive the Arabs for.
At the same time, I share their sentiment - and feel horrible for children who have to face such ugly realities so young. “To Nasrallah with love.” Its focused on a man that the children know wants to hurt them (and who is launching rockets at their home). It isn’t hatred of the Lebanese people. Its hatred of the bad guy. And that is righteous hatred. Children see things more clearly than we do.
And to those who question the provenance of the picture: its an Israeli artillery piece and the pen the girl is holding is a recognizable Israeli brand. My kids use the same pens, but not on ammunition, thank G-d. I pray we will live to see a day when children (Israeli or Arab) do not live in fear.

I’m an American and I used to be a die-hard Israel-supporter (a Gentile Zionist?) until I was 20 or so. Everything I’d been told in the media was that Israel was a secular, pluralistic western-style democracy being mercilessly attacked by the evil Palestinians, etc. Then I started to slowly learn the truth.
I still oppose terror attacks against Israeli civilians, but the situation is not nearly so black-and-white as many Americans think it is.

What i got from your sources is that you use Judaism as a religion and as a label to know who of the billions of people on this earth belonged to the tribes that were evicted from Egypt and conquered Palestine 2000 years ago. These tribes after 2000 years of failed attempts to coexist with other nations decided to unit themselves and go back to the same land they grabbed by force after being expelled from Egypt and grab it by force again from those whose bad luck made them inhabit it during this time.

Jews are a race (or ethnicity, if you prefer a more PC equivalent) by this definition.
I like this definition of race because it is flexible. A race can be defined as small as you want (the Jewish race or the Arab race) or as large as you want (the human race), and everything in-between (the Semitic race). Mutiple races just need to have some qualification of being partially inbred at some point in their histories to qualify them as a higher-level race. Furthermore, the definition doesn’t restrict a race to having a single higher level grouping.

WOW! A few doses of reality -
1) Israel is not nor does it have to be PERFECT and without flaw to still have the moral high ground and not be equivalent to its fascistic enemies.
2) AP photographers probably ran the 100 yard dash to get this picture and then put it front and center in EVERY newspaper they could. It was in my local newspaper by the way.
3) The amount of shit the AP and Reuters photographers regualarly ignore in the Territories is purposeful and blatant. A Palestinian writer himself told me this. That’s not to mention the stuff they miss because they don’t speak Arabic and have Palestinian PLO stringers to “translate”.
One picture of 2 Israeli girls signing missiles is not the equivalent or even in the same galaxy as to what occcurs daily in every in just about every Arab and Muslim state in the Middle East.
5) US Military regularly sign and put messages on bombs and missiles by the way. This doesn’t make them the equivalent of Al Queda etc…
6) There are no celebrations in Israel as in Gaza and Hamastan every time a rocket murders Jews in Israel….

it doesn’t even matter to which camp they belong, all are doing just the same. they are brought up thinking that violence is normal. which leaves little room for hope, for the future. sometimes i am thinking all this world should be put in some counseling group, like alcoholics anonymous, only this time should be “violence anonymous”.

- These kids have never lived in terror as the kids in Palestine day in and day out. You can notice this from the happiness they have drawn on their faces. I suggest that they switch places for a week and then let us see how happy they will be.

- These kids are descents of some Russian, polish, European, or an other western nation that decided to leave their county and move to Palestine in order to justify the need for the Israeli occupation acquiring more Palestinian land. It is the same principle on which USA was founded on back some 440 years ago. They reason they justify their right to live in Palestine is because some 3000 years ago, and according to the old testament, God promised Abraham a land that flows with milk and honey. This land stretches from Egypt until the Euphrates. It includes Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Cyprus, Jordan, and parts of Iraq. If one’s ancestors some 3000 years ago lived in a place then it gives you the right to claim it, then what about the people that their fathers lived there, were born there, and not longer than 50 years back, don’t they have the right to claim this land?
- Abraham who is respected by Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike, came from the Gulf, which means he is an Arab. People living in the area where Israel wants to built its state belongs to Kannans (Palestinians), Phoenicians (Lebanese), Assyrians (Part Syrians). These people did not believe in the God of Abraham (which is what we all call God now), so did the Greeks, Romans, Germanic, Vikings, and many other nations. If not believing in the God of Abraham gives the right to any of Abraham followers to get their land? What about China, Japan, large parts of Africa, does this mean that you need to get their country also? What kind of belief is this? What kind of unfair God is this? But most important, what kind of myth is this? Luckily Muslims Christians and many Orthodox Jews know that this is just a lie that was created thousands of years ago.
- Hezbollah was established in 1982 to fight Israel. Since none of you lived under the Israeli bombing, unfortunately I had the pleasure of experiencing it back in the 80’s and again few days ago, you can not imagine the barbaric shelling they use. So please do not talk about anything you do not know. And if Hezbollah is considered terrorist because they kidnap soldiers, then all armies are terrorist even if they target soldiers. Are you trying to say that a nation wanting to defend itself from the occupier then it should do this only on Gandhi style? Unfortunately, you can not use Gandhi style with a nation that was built based on the Old Testament which clearly says “you have all the nations around you, the strangers in your land and their kids born in your land to use as your slaves FOR EVER”. Read the bible in order to understand what Israel stands for if you are in doubt.
- Israel committed, and continues to commit kidnapping, assassination, and several other mafia styles in all over the world. They have, for the past 60 years, kidnapped more than 2000 people from Lebanon only. Please read the Lebanese Israeli history because obviously you have never read history at all.
- Israel has, and continues to commit massacres in Palestine and Lebanon. Did you forget Kana 6 years ago? Did you forget Sabra & Shatila in Beirut in 1882? Are you watching the news? Are you seeing the dead people and how they are dying? Are you seeing who is being attacked? I just came from Lebanon and I urge you to pay a visit to Lebanon and see what is going on. 200 rockets a day falling on Israel is equal to a normal day for a Lebanese or Palestinian child.
These facts are countless and will need a lifetime to list them all, but one thing that these picture confirms: Israel was built on hate and destruction and this what will make it never survive for as long as there people that are willing to die in order to defend justice and to correct the wrong that was done thousands of years back when the forefathers of the Abraham race did to the nations that welcomed them with open arms (Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria now days). The earth is rounded for a reason, this being “what goes around comes around”. The saddest part is that we are doing this harm to each other (Human Vs Human), the rest is just cosmetics.

This is not right. What kind of parents allow their kids to do that? And that goes for any parents; Israeli, Palestinian and so on, so on. The Middle East seems to have hate-poisoned minds everywhere. And it’s spreading. Should we just shut off the whole area for say 20-25 years and then check back if anyone is left alive? What is the point of having kids sign weapons? And have pictures taken of them while they are doing it? Damn those idiots! Imbecilles! Damn ‘em straight to hell! Well…actually they don’t seem to need any help getting there. (I wasn’t talking about the kids)

Shouldn’t we also be disturbed when we see little kids at Hizbollah rallies with plastic dynamite strapped around their waist? This is a circle of violence people. Seriously though, I think there is a lack of criticism toward the Islamofascism supporters because the world just doesn’t expect any better from them.

Hating and killing is undeniably a central part of ALL human nature as is greed and avrice and most of all self delusion. Wants become needs, my needs are more important than yours, fear becomes anger and then hatred….. As ChristianB quoted :“Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” And as the Buddist doctrine states Life is suffering.
All this tribal rivalry was perhaps more “useful”? oh. probably 5000 years ago. But now the clever, status obsessed, violent ape has proliferated globally to the point where there is but one fractured tribe running out of room, eating everything and everyone in it’s path. And since we outstripped most of our natural preditors nature is using our own species in a increasingly vain attempt to control our population. We are our own predator.
The politics of scarcity. The more individuals competing for fewer and fewer resources the more pronounced the vicious, self centered, and ruthless parts to our psycological make up become. And it’s still early in the game. One more evolutionary experiment running it’s course. Nature does not shrink from killing and suffering. Being a paracite is just as valid as being a predator, or prey or a grazer… Our species is all of those rolled into one. Just the natural ballance of life working on the numbers and seeing how far this creature will go in the footrace of evolution before the inevitable disapearance of all of us. Given enough time all things will come to pass… but NOTHING comes to stay. I just try to hold on to my share of “humanity” LOL… Or in better words I wish to try to hold onto as much strength as possible for as long as possible and therefore show as much compassion and dare I say it, “Love” (the most over used word in our launguage) for all people and all creatures. Unless of course I have to kill them for food or a better place to live, or if they embarrass me in front of my subordinates. he he he… Don’t mess with me or my own. After all I, my family, my countrymen, my race, my sex, and my religion is the BEST… better than all the rest. I must admit I have had a good hearty belly laugh reading some of the quips and rants here. And I have seen our collective nature shinning through in all it’s ragged glory as usual. My cousins; Live while you live, Love when you love, and die when you die. Don’t ever mistake one for the other. And try to have the patience, strength, and honour to be good to each other. May ALL our faces of “god” bless and help ALL of us. Look at all children everywhere and try …. try to love them as best you can. I for one am now ready for a long sleep. Goodnight.
