Nasrallah’s speech highlights

Ok, he talked for 15 minutes. Here are the main points:

1) This is not our fault. The Israelis were planning this. I repeat, don't blame us. We just got them to do this earlier than planned. We are actually blessed that this happend on an early stage. Imagine how bad it would've been then. We stopped that by having them attack us now! They way I see it, we did y'all a favor. You should thank us. Really!

2) We are the patriots. Anyone else who has an opposing view is a traitor, working for the israeli american zionist project. Yes, Harriri, Jumbalat, and everyone else who thinks we are assholes: I am talking to you.

3) What is important is dignity. Our country's dignity, our people's dignity, and our dignity. We won't accept anything that affects our-the resistance- diginity. We have low self esteem as it is.

4) The Media is lying. They are Israeli controlled and aided by the international media. It's all propaganda. Listen only to our media. We don't lie. We are religious people after all.

5) We have rockets, and we will hit beyond Haifa now. And after that we will hit beyond beyond Haifa. Yes. God willing we will hit Jordan.

6) It doesn't matter if they take over our villages, or that we give them up. It's not like we are a real army anyway. What matters is how many casualties we inflict. They can invade the whole country, and they will, but that doesn;t mean we lost. It only means that they have a better army. You shouldn't consider them taking over our land a defeat. Just don't ask me how.

7) We have different parameters of winning. If they take over everything, but we still kill some of them, that means we are winning. Doesn't matter if they have every village under their control, as long as we kill some of them every now and then, you should consider us winning.

8) Hold steadfastness. We know you are getting screwed right now, because of their plan that we hastened by kidnapping their soldiers, but you should keep steadfastness. You really have no choice and nowhere to go. Should be easy.

9) Oh yeah, I am still hiding. Lata!

Anyone who thinks this man is a hero is totally insane. Btw, I am not sure you are aware of this, but during the time that the Jews actually DID control the media (or at least the movie studios during the “Golden Age of Cinema”), the only movie that was made about antisemitism was made by Darryl F. Zanuck - he was the one nonjew studio head at the time! True story! I saw the movie, it was called “Gentleman’s Agreement,” and it won some Oscars in 1947, and starred Gregory Peck as a Jew.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0039416/

It’s rather ironic! The Jews were too scared to make a movie about Judaism, for fear of causing antisemitism. They were too afraid to cause a ruckus. Kinda funny and pathetic. I also believe that many of the studio heads knew of the Holocaust, but decided to be quiet about it.

Nowadays the media is just owned by large corporations - see my paper on this. The days of the old Yid owned media are long since gone, and yet the myth remains.

    http://galatea-world.livejournal.com/317046.html?mode=reply

But the bottom line is that maybe it’s in the interests of the Jews for them NOT to own the media, at least based on what happened when they had control over the media, historically!

  6. Moshe Says:

Jordan? He wants to hit Jordan?

  7. tommy Says:

That is right. The Hezbollah definition of winning is that they are victorious no matter what happens.

When Israel withdrew from Lebanon they claimed victory.

If Israel reoccupies Lebanon they will claim victory.

They can’t lose, I tell ya!

  8. JordanR Says:

Why the hell would they bomb Jordan?

  9. forsoothsayer Says:

  12. Anonymous Says:

Soothsayer, the point is, SM knew Nasrallah was a madman before he had a really really really really really humiliating defeat. Up until then, most idiots that backed Hezbollah and Nasrallah had his mentality. Now that he is defeated, they don’t. SM knew before (since he had his post before and had a rational view way before this war) and others didn’t (or didn’t want to disbelieve) but now, most people with any dignity are sure they are not behind him (especially if there are bullets and bombs flying from his direction) and will probably think twice before they murder or kidnap anyone in any nation.

The extent of SM’s quasi liberal and quasi conservative world view - he was and probably will be right - and to the extent of those who disagreed with his opinion, particularly madmen of the likes of Nasrallah, they are wrong, especially if they were members of Hezbollah. Just wanted to clarify if you weren’t sure.

  26. D.B. Shobrawy Says:

Sounds like Nasrallah (via Sandmonkey) is preparing everyone for his defeat by explaining that its, umm not really losing.

  27. James M Says:

  28. SoCalJustice Says:

I, like the great majority of Muslims, do not find a shred of justification to call Hizbullah a terrorist organization. In fact, we consider them the champions of Arab dignity and the few Muslims left in this world with the courage of conviction to sacrifice their own lives for the right thing.

What’s up with this whole bunch of lies about dignity, freedom and sacrificing someone’s life for the right thing?!!!

    SoCalJustice, wake up dear!

Hezballaah put the dignity of many lebanese down by causing them to leave their homes and live with fear under the Israeli seige and bombing!

What freedom are they fighting for???! The one for the Palestinians? Go and help them in Palestine, not in Lebanon. Or the one for the Julan heights? Go fight in Sytia. Sheb3a’s farms? Give me a break! You dont risk the lives of many people for a small peace of land!

Stop the insanity of sacrificing people’s life! We dont need more terrorists! The right thing has been switched to cater different needs of people. Who said that we can’t fight with love and peace? We dont have sacrifice our lives to achieve freedom. Look at Ghandi. Learn! Think! Be human!

  35. Rea Says:

hahahhaha oh man, that dude has some sense of humor :) … i mean, he was joking. Right?

  36. AntonGarou Says:

[...]Nasrallah stated in a speech last week that he intentionally avoided hitting the petrochemical installations in Haifa because of “unpredictable consequences” to the civilian population.[...]

When people over here heard that the general feeling was “yeah, right”.They hit just across the street from them and their rockets are inaccurate enough that it was *probably* aimed at the petrochem industries.

  37. AntonGarou Says:

@Rea- SM or Nassrallah?I believe SM was joking, and thank him for the laugh, Nasrallah on the other hand is probably trying to salvage propaganda victory from the smoking ruins of his Beirut instalation.

  38. SoCalJustice Says:

    Jeff/Observer,

    Those aren’t my personal feelings.

    Far from, trust me.

I was just posting that guys rantings to show that no matter how much Hizballah puts Lebanese lives at risks or targets Israeli civilians, the kool aid has already been swigged by a large percentage of people.

    Sorry for the confusion.

  39. Hyscience Says:

Highlights Of [Extremely tired] Nasrallah Speech

while up to now Nasrallah spoke to the camera without reading from notes, this time he not only read from a prepared text but even stumbled through the text at times.

  40. The Observer Says:

SoCalJustice. it is okay, thanks for clearing it out..

  41. homais Says:

We have rockets, and we will hit beyond Haifa now. And after that we will hit beyond beyond Haifa.

Yes, soon they will have the capacity to hit Nancy and, insha’allah, Ruby. I know I’d hit that.

  42. The Observer Says:

Elissa is immune, she would recast those missles by her boobs :P

  43. Omar Says:

If anybody here actually cares to know what Nasrallah actually said, here are some translated excerpts:

“We have been on the American terrorism list since… since they began the terrorism list. We were among the first to be included in the terrorism list. Some European countries also include us in their terrorism lists. The position of the international community is clear, and therefore, we are not surprised by the international community, and we have never pinned our hopes on it.”

“Today, we would accept it if the Arab regimes - I am being very objective and realistic… We would accept it if they were neutral. That’s it. In the past, too, we accepted this from them. If you examine the rhetoric of Hizbullah… Maybe the rhetoric of our Palestinian brothers is different, and this is their right, because their circumstances are much harsher than ours. They always attack, accuse, and denounce the regimes and the rulers. This is not part of our rhetoric or writings. Why? Because we have forgotten about them.”

“Once we used to ask the international community to denounce the hangman and to have mercy on the victim. Then we got to the point where we said we would accept it if they denounce the hangman and the victim alike. This has become what we could expect from them. If a resolution denounces both the hangman and the victim - fine. As for the Arab regimes - all we expect from them is to be neutral. And if they do not want to be neutral - brother, let them treat Israel and us equally. We would even accept it if they treat the hangman and the victim equally. But for them to participate in spilling the blood of the victim, and to provide cover for the crimes of the hangman - I tell you that we did not expect this.”

“They want to annihilate any motivation to conduct resistance in Lebanon, whether by Hizbullah or anyone else. They want to bring the country to a situation in which the word “resistance” is considered derogatory. Martyr, Jihad, wounded, steadfastness, challenge, liberation, freedom, power, honor, nobility, dignity - all these words must be removed from the vocabulary of the Lebanese, from the press, the political writings, from the political thinking, from the popular conscience. This is what Israel is doing.”

“I am convinced that even the sons, daughters, and wives of some Arab rulers are with us. But I say to the Arab rulers: I don’t want your swords or even your hearts. All I want is for you to leave us alone, as we say in colloquial Lebanese. In other words, remain neutral. We are fine with that. You’ve said what you said - you can relax now, thank you very much.”

You might notice that the man speaks well, remarkably so if you compare him to a bumbling idiot like George Bush, or even to an obvious liar like Tony Blair. You might also consider that this was not a speech - this was an interview on Jazeera. He may well have been prepared, but the eloquence and irony are his own.

  44. tommy Says:

    Yeah, Omar.

    But that is the thing….

….nobody really does care what he says. LoL.

Let him speak as eloquently as Abe Lincoln and Winston Churchill combined. I’d still rather see him in a cardboard box with a 5.56mm NATO wound through his thick skull.

He is a terrorist and a thug. Fuck ‘em.
