This is what they are doing now in Iraq: using kidnap victims as unwilling suicdebombers.
Insurgents are now using unwitting kidnap victims as suicide bombers —
seizing them, booby-trapping their cars without their knowledge, then
releasing them only to blow up the vehicles by remote control, the
Defense Ministry warned Thursday.
Nice people those insurgents, ehh?

What are you talking about? Get your facts straight. According to war expert Michael Moore, these boys are comparable to America’s Minutemen.

This is nothing new. I spent 13 months there and they used to pull all sorts of stunts like this. Another favorite was drugging young teenage men and sending them loose on these types of missions. Then there’s always the SURPRISE method, by which they take a member of their own and one day basically say “Surprise, your turn to blow yourself up has come”. They then proceed to peer pressure the poor sap into doing something he never had any intention or knowledge of doing.

I’ve assumed that they have been doing this for years.
Keep in mind that the people we are talking about are (1) al Qaeda, which has no qualms about murdering anybody at all, (2) Iraqi Baath Party loyalists, who spent decades torturing and murdering people, (3) criminals and psychopaths, who have no doubt been let loose as long as they go fight the infidels.
They certainly don’t mind killing people, whether Westerners, Shiites or Sunnis.

Matt’s right. From talking to one of my buddies who drove strykers there it sounds like the insurgents were doing this stuff regularly at least a year ago. His vehicle got hit by a VBIED that was driven by a guy who was like the poster child for this. They found out because they captured the guys who kidnapped the driver and built the bomb.
He also says a fairly standard tactic is variant on this. He calls it “forced martyrdom”. The insurgents will kidnap them, tell them if they don’t do it their families die, then put them in a car with a pressure switch in the seat and a remote detonator (usually cell phone). So once you’re in the car you’re dead either way.

Mike, you are correct. They have looked for the mentally unstable or handicap in past for these attacks. They probably still do too. What Ramba says is also correct about “force martyrdom”. These psychopaths pull out all the stops. If only more people in the Muslim world knew what their “heroic” fighters were up to.
