Another blogger arrested!

3arabawy has the news. It's worth noting that he was arrested for walking in the streets of downtown late, and the police who arrested him claimed there was some sort of curfew in effect that justifies his arrest. He should be released soon, because they have no case and they know it. It is however a telling sign of the panic that is undergoing the egyptian police and their fight to still seem to have control on the streets of Cairo, despite all the growing signs to the contrary!

I just found out about the arrest from this Reuters article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061119/wr_nm/egypt_blogger_dc, and then came over here to see if you had any “insider” information.

I hope All of Us know that We are all being watched. Right from places like smart village in the desert and other E-tracking centers all over Giza, Cairo, Amriya & East Sinai. They actually monitor diplomatic correspondances and any threat to national security.
Mocking is vaguely tolerated in Egypt but what Rami has been doing is deemed a kick in the nuts of the gov. He will be released after seeing hell on earth though. Other bloggers have connections and were able to get out only after being physically abused and sexually assaulted. This is just a poke in Rami’s side by the gov and an attempt to lure a huge movement of bloggers to just make examples of them all.
