Update: Thanks for all of you wishing my father well. He is doing fine. I just came back from the hospital and resting a bit since I will be heading back to spend the night there. In the mean time, there are 2 items that I saw that I feel that I need to blog desperately!

In my family, we always try to have a family member in the hospital room as much as possible. That person’s job is to make sure that everybody who touches the patient washes their hands first, and that the right medicines are given at the right time.
This practice does cut down on the number of mistates in patient care, and in-hospital-acquired infections. This is not a comment on the quality of hospital care in a given country — we live in the US.
