Hypothetically, though, supposing you’re some other country. Say, a country comprised entirely of non Jews and non-Zionists, and hence inoffensive. Supposing that country is notified by a high ranking official of another country that it is soon to be destroyed by virtue of a wonder weapon that the other country is developing (no Jews or Zionists in the other country, so also inoffensive). What is the first country to do? Does it matter if the threatening country is a democracy or not? If it’s just the will of the leader, and the people are peaceful, does it make sense to commit the country to warfare because of the violent intentions of its leader?

I don’t claim a fully formed opinion on this topic, but in many respects the world was a lot better when kings would just kill one another and leave everyone else mostly alone. I for one would love to see a tag-team jello wrestling match between Assad and AJ on one side, and Bush and Olmert on the other. Add in Blair and Nasrallah for verbally combative color commentary, and you’ve got a solid gold pay-per-view event!
