A prominent Palestinian Christian activist was found dead on a Gaza City street Sunday, sending a shudder of fear through a tiny Christian community feeling increasingly insecure since the Islamic Hamas seized control last summer.
The body of Rami Khader Ayyad, the 32-year-old director of Gaza's
only Christian bookstore, bore a visible gunshot wound to the head, and
an official at Gaza's Shifa Hospital said he was also stabbed numerous
times. Ayyad had been missing since Saturday afternoon.Ayyad regularly received anonymous death threats from angry people
who accused him of missionary work, a rarity among Gaza's Christians.
His store, which is associated with a Christian group called the
Palestinian Bible Society, was firebombed in April."We feel Rami was killed for his Christian faith," said Simon Azazian, a spokesman at the Bible Society's head office in Jerusalem.
The man was survived by a pregnant wife and two Kids. Hamas denies any involvement, of course. Must be the Jooozzz!

Or it could be one of numerous Islamist groups that now reside in Gaza, not touched by Hamas as long as they don’t go against what Hamas wishes.
Apparently, Hamas isn’t too bothered by firebombs and murder, when it comes to those deemed “un-Islamic”.

I really must say that any Chrisitan or Jew still living in an Islamic country needs their head examined. Yeah, I know, Christians and Jews have been in this region for a long, long time. Wrong answers. The Christian Palestinians faced the aggression of the Israelis early on 1948 there were 100,000 Christian Palestinians when Israel occupied Palestine. Palestinian Christians suffer from the Israelis in the holy land and continue to suffer.
Muslim and Christian Palestinians lived in peace together for the longest time.

It doesn’t concern me who takes my side or who doesn’t really. The fact that I’m pointing out that other innocent Muslims including women and children are slaughtered also by Israelis on daily basis but SM doesn’t highlight it. I was raising a point that has nothing to do with this particular incident.
That doesn’t make me less sympathetic to this incident. I think it is not up to you to question my faith based on my comment. I know as a fact from very reliable sources that in Palestine Christians and Muslims don’t fight and kill each other.

I’d take my chances on the hundred year scenario rather than being slaughtered in Muslim lands, which includes Europe. ANY JEW is allowed entrance to Israel. Getting to Canada or the U.S. is more difficult but worth it. In a hundred years I might predict that Muslim countries emplode on themselves, unable to keep up with the rest of the world due to their intolerance of world progress and their siphoning off of innovation workers and, of course, their barring 50% of their potential work force from achieving anything. We all might be able to return 100 years from now!
In the meantime, Jews and Christians need to protect themselves and, quite frankly, their gene pool rather than being sent to slaughter one by one by the Muslim insanity.

That’s no longer true. Palestinian Christians in the West Bank are being harassed and attaked so much by Muslim extremists that they are quitting the area in droves - going to more tolerant places like Jordan.
Palestinian Christians suffer from the Israelis in the holy land and continue to suffer.
Yeah, everyone is suffering over there - blame the Israelies for every single problem afflicting the the Palestinians despite crushing evidence that most of their woes lie within themselves.

Being atheist, I find all of this religious infighting nothing short of stupendously stupid! How the hell am I suppose to believe there is some all mighty, all knowing, all powerful entity up in some fictional “heaven” when the 2 most populous religions out there want nothing else but to dominate the other? This really wouldn’t be a question in my mind if dominating didn’t include trying to kill off the other religion. Take a step back people and look how friggin stupid this all looks to an outsider. I don’t consider myself overly smart, but my god what you people do just seems so stupid and self destructive that a flippin 4 year old would know better.

LaRoacha - To which two religions do you refer? If you are referring to Christians and Muslims than trust me, the Muslims in the Middle East have the upper hand and have had the upper hand on Christians for many many years now. If you are referring to Muslims and Jews then I think you need to know that there are only something like 16 million Jews in the entire world (6 million living in Israel) compared to 1.5 BILLION Muslims. That is really the sick joke; that 16 million Jews worldwide can cause such havoc in a region where there are 1.5 billion Muslims…Think about it. If the Muslims had ANYTHING going for them then the Jews would just be a fly that needed swatting… There must be something else at play, hmmm, what could it be?

There is no conspiracy. The people of Isreal want to get on with life. They want to achieve in the modern day. Then you have the Muslims that seem to be tied up in the 7th century. That would be the Palestinians, harping about the Jews “cutting off” their power and water… if the Muslims wanted to alleviate this, they would have done so long ago. Please keep in mind that Palestine is bordered by Egypt and Jordan; two Muslim states. Why is it that Israel needs to supply Palestine with water and electricity?

Is that too nuanced for you LaRoacha? Did you not understand my meaning? What I am trying to say is that the Muslim world is currently flush with oil money. If the Muslim world wanted to solve the “Palestinian” problem they could do so in a heartbeat by bringing development money and infrastructure money to the Palestinian territories. They could also force the U.N. to acknowledge Palestine as a country, just like Israel was acknowledged as a country in 1948. They choose not to do so. In fact, they choose to let the Palestinians live in squalor because it supports their political viewpoint.
What I m saying is if the Muslim world wanted the suffering of the Palestinians to cease, they could do it in a heartbeat by flooding the area with development and stability (by their own troops). They choose not to do this so the west is left with an unwinnable task. The west knows this and so do the Muslim countries. They leave Israel as the scapegoat.
At least that is my take on the Middle East…
