The Kabobfest inner conflict

In what could be Kabobfest a hoax (and god knows they are not above it), an ex-Kabobfester started an anti-Kabobfest website, even creating an Urban Dictionary entry on the definition of Kabobfest:

amalgamation of pseudo-bohemian, kuffiyeh wearing, proto-typical
non-conformists who identify as being either Arab or Muslim-friendly
within a post-9-11 context and sit around all day competing for that
one moment of self aggrandizing glory in which they seemingly hog the
intellectual spotlight within pointless, shallow conversations related
to Middle East affairs just to temporarily fulfill an insatiable thirst
for appearing knowledgeable. These types of people are often found in
Cafés checking their Facebook profiles on laptop computers and blogging
about nothing terribly important.

Look at those dirty activists wearing $95 designer Che Guevara t-shirts, they're such a KABOBfest!

Sounds true to me!

Women between worlds: Jordanian professional women are caught and suspended there with completely Westernized workplaces and Eastern homes. I wonder how they do it…

If it’s a hoax then it’s funny. If it isn’t one then it still is funny.

So I checked out Kabobfest to see why the people would even bother having an internal conflict. I was struck by the constant accusations of Israel committing a Shoah against the Palestinians. Now I think Israel’s policies toward the Palestinian people are monstrous and horrible. But there is a scale in human rights violations, and calling the incursion into Gaza, a brutally irresponsible one which should be condemned, a Shoah really throws away any idea of that scale. It reminds me of this clip where Jon Steward mentions the use of Hitler references, which are only exceeded by irresponsible Holocaust references by Human Rights advocates:
