The thing that gets me is the father promises to send in two more sons. Didn’t he listen to the part where his son was spending 9 hours/day begging and was beaten if he didn’t produce his quota?

I thought he sent them because he was ashamed.
Entrance into paradise for an entire family is obviously more important than the life of a child who will eventually also end up in paradise. Win win situation. Plus adults know better and the young boy was misbehaving according to his father. I wonder who taught them that…
