The speech!

Ok, so I woke up early this morning and I head to Cairo University. The first thing one has to say is that the security was very ncie and cordial and professional: You had to have an ID and the invite, and they would just let you in. Unfortunately, no one relayed that information to Ayman Nour, who was standing in front of me with an invite, but without an ID, and deamdning to go in, because " I am Ayman fuckin Nour". The secuirty people still had him go to his car to get an ID, which was funny. By the way, there are no burn marks on his face. Nuttin. Not even a scar, that liar. He did, hwoever paint/ dye his head black to hide the fact that he is getting bald. Douchebag.

You go inside, you sit down, you resist the efforts of every goddamn asshole Usher with a power trip trying to seat you elsewhere to accommodate his friends, and you simply watch the audience. We had to go there at 10:30, but the speech wasn't going to start till 1 pm, so we had to find ways to amuse ourselves. The organizing people sought to entertain us by playing  theme songs from egyptian soap operas (Imagine awaiting Obama while people playing the song from Ze2ab el gabal). Anyway, we entertained yourselves by watching the audience trying to interact and mingle with each other. They had a bunch of southeast asian and african Azhar students invited, who kept taking pictures with Ayman Nour, and then with Adel Imam. And then the Egyptian government walked in, and what was amusing was that Omar Suleiman was the first inside, walking ahead of Gamal Mubarak, and the rest of the usual suspects, which is..ehh..telling. Anyway, this was a testment of the power of the ONE: Only he can get all these people to sit together in the same hall. I mean, Barrack Obama, Ayman nour, Omar Suleiman, Gamal Mubarak and Adel Imam in one room? Someone write a joke, quick.

Adel Imam to the left, Ayman Nour dyed bald head to low right!

So, after 2 hours of waiting and a million mic checks, Ambassador Scobey walks into the hall and starts shaking hands with government officials, and she didn't shake hands with The Mufti Al Gomaa, even though he wanted to shake her hand. Scobey, you are confusing the Mufti with the Aazhar Sheikh Tantawi, he is the one who doesn't touch women. And the Hillary Clinton walks into the hall and she gets a standing ovation and applause for 2.2 seconds before Obama goes all "Fuck that bitch stealing ma thunder" and makes his enterance. Crowd goes nuts.

The speech was everything was expected and more. The guy achieved his goals and executed it effectively and brilliantly. It was big on comfort  and platitudes, and short on substance, but really, what does one expect other than that from an Obama speech? If you are going to see Obama, you are going to watch an expert showman. Just don't expect much beyond entertainment.

My favorite parts of the speech had to be the following in order: The way he deliverd el salamu alaikom (the audience looked like it just had a collective orgasm), the Koranic shout outs, the pandering to Hijabis, the dig at Hillary (women became leaders in islamic countries, while the US is still "struggling with it"? Nice!), and the way he spoke of the Israel Palestine Issue. For me, again, it didn't say what he intends to do, but it made people happy. They were walking outside saying how , for the first time, they hear an american leader "talk with some balance on the issue".

What I hated was the over-reaching part. I mean, he, as the US President, will personally battle every negative islamic stereotype? For real? Pander too much? Also, I am still waiting for a serious difference between him and Bush on the War on Terror. I mean, he said he will pull the troops out by 2012 and will close Gunatanmo some time later. So, if Gitmo ain't closed, detainees are still getting extradited, The troops are still in Iraq and Afghanistan, what exactly changed here? And how come people are all positive over this now? Wasn't that what Bush used to say? Now it's wise and good? WTF?

But whatever, I digress. The people liked it, and facebook and twitter are nuts with the Obama love comments. The man did a good job appeasing the Islamic world, and that's really what the people who voted for him wanted, right? That's why the section on human rights in his speech was the weakest, because let's face it, he ain;t going to push on human rights and democracy. That era is gone. We are all about diplomacy and friendship now, and that's what the American people want, even if the price is that the democracy activists in Egypt get fucked. But then again, the democracy activists in Egypt didn;t really like it when Bush was calling for democracy and human rights, so maybe they deserve it.

Anyway, like all good things, the speech had to end, and we had to leave the completely empties neighborhood of Dokki. While leaving the University I saw a small demonstration by CODE PINK. YES, fuckin Code Pink. Cindy Sheehan's Code Pink. And they were protesting the speech and Obama over Ghaza, and how they had a letter from the Hamas leaders that they want delivered to him. Oh Code Pink, you bunch of unemployed leftist wankers, you made my day.

Oh well, back to Cairo Traffic tomorrow. It was nice while it lasted!

  1. Dude proofread. We know you’re in a rush and all but standing innovation?

Shutting the editor in me up – I agree with a lot of what you said. How much can you expect from one speech? Like I said on twitter – I think he really balanced it all out really well, finding something to say that would appeal to each different faction.

I also found the audience reactions very amusing – their choice moments for applause (like the mention of democracy for one) and the one douchebag who shouted out “we love you”

Oh and you didn’t see the fly that landed on his forehead from where you were sitting? Tahya Misr!

  2. Thanx for the photos! The speech photos are awesome! Good Job:)
Check out all of those flowers/plants in front of Obama..they don’t look real..they put out FAKE greenery for Obama?

  3. LOL :D
THere were BUGS in there, too??!

  4. I am seriously just kidding…they really went to a lot of work and it shows.
    Did anyone buy a T-shirt?

  5. Sand Ape says:

I don’t C, did anyone buy a t-shirt? why don’t you drop a link on the matter haha haha!!?

  6. Words are just words. Both Chamberlain and Churchill were able to turn out a pretty piece of prose, but with very different impacts on history. What counts is what BhusseinO’s going to do. And I don’t feel good about it.

Seems like the big O panders to those against US interests like Chavez and, yes, Abdullah; and pressures his allies, like Netanyahu. It’s as if he believes that only he has sufficient intellect to understand bullies and to see the faults in friends. Could this be moral cowardice masquerading as moral superiority?

One aspect is that democracy activists in Egypt, Iran and – for that matter – China are f***ed. The other aspect is: those of us in the US are also about to be royally f***ed.

  7. And what’s more:

Barry tells us: “The U.S. government has gone to court to protect the right of women and girls to wear the hijab, and to punish those who would deny it… I reject the view of some in the West that a woman who chooses to cover her hair is somehow less equal…”

Aren’t there a lot of muslim women out there who would regard this as a stunningly naive reversal of the true situation – where they’re fighting for the right NOT to wear the hijab, and for the equality of NOT having to cover their hair? We’ve seen enough youtubes of women assaulted by the religious police in Iran to know that they don’t have the “choice” of covering their hair (or not!!)

The Big O sides with the oppressor. Yet again.

  8. What will obama do? He will, of course, leave you to the brutal hands of dictators because that is what the democrats do.

  9. Next week Mr. Obama will execute a 180 degree U-turn. He spoke today about Iraq being better off without a dictator, and yet Dear Mr. Hosni Mubarak has only been in power for about 28 years.

Some dictators are good, and some are bad.

Mr. Obama is a tease. He pretends to see both “sides”. Actually he is only another pro-zionist liar.

To see him being “stern” with Israel is like watching a puppet master shouting at his own puppet.

  10. Jammer;

Do you think the US should forcibly overthrow Mubarak?

  11. How does this exactly differ much in context from the Bush 2008 Egypt speech. Besides Bush pressuring Egypt more. I looked at that and it seems similar

  12. Obama just says what he thinks his audience wants to hear, so they will all love him or else. Obama was the biggest douche-bag in that room, with Hillebeast at a close second. I’m amazed he didn’t mention that women should have the right to be genitally mutilated and that he would punish anyone who denied it.

  13. If you ask most Egyptians they will tell you they do not want the current regime taken out by outsiders. We do not wish for another Iraq or another president assassinated. Political change has to come from the ppl so that they put a system that works for them and also cherish their freedom and know how to protect it.
I liked the speech a lot and like it or not it felt sincere and managed to address most of the issues on ppls minds. I was very happy that the young crowd in particular applauded him when he mentioned democracy. For me that moment reflects a whole lot on how the younger generation sees and wants things and they are the majority in that part of the World.
In the end, we wait to see what will happen next but while we wait we all have to understand that a huge change of attitudes is needed from all and I hope the israelis and the palestinians understand that its probably now or never.

  14. EgyPeter says:

It’s funny how he totally played down his Muslim family background while campaigning in the US. And then when he goes to speak to the Muslim world he’s all of a sudden magically a Muslim again. Which one is it BO?

Great political move by Hosni though. He has firmly entrenched his regime forever. Goodbye democracy and see ya later human rights. But then again, I’ll take Jimmy over Mehdi Akef any day, And if Palestine is any example, I’m fairly confident “democracy” in Egypt would give us the Ikhwan. Maybe Obama realizes that.

  15. @EgyPeter: Christian. Like he said in this speech. He’s never been or claimed to be Muslim.

@Whiners: I just finished hearing the speech. I found lots of substance on pretty touchy and controversial subjects. I know it’s quite fashionable here to claim BO is “all talk and no substance” (or, paradoxially by the same people, “dangerous fascist”). I seriously don’t see it? How dangerous to your self image would it be to realize that BHO is actually turning out to be a pretty decent president?

  16. chellebelle says:

he said out of Iraq by 2010. How the heck can we leave Ghanistan, with all the nut balls and the weak government.

  17. chellebelle says:

Oh yeah…you love to refer to him as the second coming derisively, yet there you sat in the audience to see him…doing your “journalistic” duty or HYPOCRITE?

  18. Wise Lebo-Irisha man with richness says:

Nice! Love the Ayman Nour comments. Good to see sensible cynicism in that part of the world. Obama is a snake-oil salesman extraordinaire and any idiot could have written as smarmy a speech. I mean the sentiment was nice and all but… holy bejaysus, this is gonna fix things? he didnt quite throw america under the bus (like he did in the Apology Tour of Europe) but he is in the throws of tossing dissidents under said bus by continuing to court the a-holes of the world. Oh well, the only good thing about the speech really is that I stumbled upon this site.

  19. “It’s funny how he totally played down his Muslim family background while campaigning in the US. And then when he goes to speak to the Muslim world he’s all of a sudden magically a Muslim again. Which one is it BO?”

Peter once her figures it out I’m sure he’ll let us all know.

I haven’t had time to listen to the whole thing yet but the parts I heard sounded like they were coming from a deeply conflicted man trying to please everybody. The fighting for the hijab one was a pathetic piece of pandering the likes of which I have never seen. We learned nothing from France’s experience did we.

We’ve had a heat wave here in Vancouver for the last few days and its been almost 36 degrees (celsius or almost a 100 fahrenheit). Two days ago I almost got nailed by some chick (maybe?) wearing a niqab while she was trying to adjust it. Do women really want the “right” to be covered in a garbage bag when its a 100 degrees out or is it what her sheepherder is telling her to do?

He didnt come close to being forceful enough on Iran and it was the perfect forum for it.

Don’t know why he even used the word democracy while hosted by a dictator after he left the dictator he spent the night with. Having said that Arabs don’t know how to deal with democracy and would turn it quickly into a theocracy. Look at what happened in “Palestine” and every other professional union including the Bar Association this week in Egypt. Throw in the Student unions of every major university in Egypt.

Peter BTW I dont use that email address anymore feel free to add me on Stalkbook, do a search using my first and last name.

  20. sherifnes says:

Great fu***n article. However, as an Egyptian living in Egypt I have to say that you guys as you speak about how Obama foresake democracy in Egypt, you forget about the two major Egyptian dissedents who were pardened by Mubarak regime just for Obama to consider coming to Egypt. Ayman Nour & Saad El Deen Ibrahim. The latter is actually his Muslim affairs advisor at this time. That has gotta count for something!!

  21. If he made some people feel good, then it was a good speech. Much as I tempted to dump on Obama about it, I won’t. Mainly because a speech by a US President is not going to change the level of hostility between the US and the Arab world. And Obama knows that, which is why I don’t think he was overly concerned with saying things that might be misconstrued. The speech was for PR, and it seems to have been fairly successful.

  22. chellebelle says:

Observation, your need to prove you are so unimpressed with the ONE as you call Mr. Obama, is getting fucking old dude.

Here’s you…OHhh Im so unimpressed with the One, but I am going to accept the invitation to one of the hottest tickets in town. So unimpressed but I am going to post photos of my invitation. So unimpressed but anyone in the Western media throws a mic in front of me I am sure going to state my two cents, of course all along expressing how unimpressed I am. Hypocrite thou name are Sandmonkey! You have just found a great way to promote yourself.

I don/t always agree with you but liked to read your perspective, however dude, got it the first 500 times …YOU ARE NOT IMPRESSED…TIME TO MOVE ON…SERIOUSLY.

  23. Sherifnes:

    Pardoned?? Pardon me?

Saad El Din’s convition was overturned by a higher court and he should’ve never been found guilty in the first place. In addition there are dozens of pending cases against him which prevent him from returning to Egypt. Ayman Nour spent the majority of his sentence and was released for “medical reasons” however he’s not allowed to practice law or earn a living.

  24. Tarik Salama says:

    Clap..! Clap..! Clap…!
Nice piece Sandmonkey, …..Obama is a marketing genius!! point!
Nothing new, 7 or 8 points and not even a single difference with his predecessor …. Same lyrics, different music!! Pop music relative to hard rock!!
In any case, this will not make a big difference for Egypt or the Egyptians people…..! He came and left in 8 hours, statistically he is not even considered as a tourist..!!!
the most important point you can get out of this “event” is that we are on our own – as we always were….. A falling regime, that above all want to keep the power in one hand even if its leader is getting old and the expected heir has no charisma nor any personality….a simple polite boy with political knowledge at the level of a taxi driver ( I apologize to all Taxi drivers if they are offended…..).
On the land that was lead by Ramses, Saladin and Mohamed Ali….What a shame……
    :O(

  25. Stewart Clamen says:

Hey, you’re famous! Heard you on NPR (public radio in the US) while driving home today! Congrats!

  26. You guys have a fucking code pink in Egypt?! Or did they just travel to protest the speech?! Hahahahaha i hope they stay there, let the Egyptians deal with them!!

  27. Elisheva (Elsheba?) says:

Love your attitude! Someone rec’d this blog through Twitter & now I’m gonna subscribe. If there’s such a thing, that is. Love love love you comments on Aiman Nour’s dyed noggin (scalp; pate). That’s the kind of shit I notice when I should be noticing something else, too. I didn’t realize he was such a thorn in the side of you guys over there! They paint him as a hero over here!! (no pun intended)

Oh, and as for the “concert Tee shirts” for sale, well, everyone here in the west got inundated with stories on the Khan El Khalili bazaar’s Obama Tutenkhamen swag. I’m sure it’s on Ebay by now.

Keep my email for your e-list!!

  28. Hey, thanks very much for your great blog! The tsunami of fundamentalist Obama hagiography coming from the US media almost had me believing that most Egyptians were drinking the Koolade from morning till night. The US is just as much in danger of losing freedom of speech as Egypt is, though in the US it’s the mainstream media themselves who do the censoring and the enforcement of orthodoxy. My only regret is that you weren’t able to introduce Obama to the audience in the hall. Don’t give up. Maybe next time!

Thanks to all the interesting posters as well!

  29. I’m glad that some of the Arabs don’t like Obama. I can’t stand him from my Zionist point of view. He is a great faker, he is His Phoniness. Just recall that he’s more your friend than ours. Maybe you ought to keep him in Egypt for an extended, make up seminar in Advanced Islamic bs at Al-Azhar. If he stays in Cairo, that may give some peace to the rest of the world.

A query for Sandmonkey: Did the Egyptian authorities really empty the Dokki neighborhood for Obama’s safety? When Bush came to Ramallah in January 2008, the Palestinian Authority forced many people out of their homes there for two days, as I recall. Such distrust of the peepul!! Well, I don’t trust Obama or you guys or Bush, for that matter. By the way, I met Sa`ad al-Din Ibrahim when he came to Jerusalem. Do you consider him a phoney the way you consider Ayman Nour a phoney?

  30. Major blooper: he cited the spanish inquisition as an example of tolerance (!) His speechwriter probably mixed the two periods of the Andalus muslim “golden age” of tolerance, and a century later the terrible catholic inquisition.

  31. If it was Bush that made that blooper every media outlet would’ve been all over him like flies on shit!

Eliyahu I’m Egyptian Canadian and here on the West Coast i’m yet to run into a Canadian that doesn’t like him. I guess they\re easily fooled with the snake oil salesman charm he has.

Who knows maybe Beyonce will intern at the white house and he can Lewinsky her and get impeached! I’ll even provide the box of Cohibas!

My parents live in Mesaha Square in Dokky and no they didn’t empty it they just shut down all the shops up and down Dokky st and all the stores on the side roads.

  32. Nader-
I was thinking the same thing:)
They must be Americans that followed there..wouldn’t an Egyptian have been arrested?

  33. Check this out :D
    For anyone who wasn’t invited..
    http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/NewBeginning/

  34. OMG! You just missed taking a photo of me. I was sitting behind all those folks falling over themselves to have their photos taken with Nour.

  35. CarpetCaptain,
thanks for the info about Dokki.

As to Sa`ad al-Din Ibrahim, I heard him speak at the Hebrew University several years ago. He put the main blame for continuation of the Arab-Israeli conflict on the great powers, insinuating/referring to/ Britain and the United States, if I understood him rightly. I wonder if he would say the same today, since he and his Ibn Khaldun Institute are on the American payroll.

  36. Try asking some west coast conservative Canadians Captain. There are plenty of us who don’t like him! After all what is to like? He really doesn’t stand for anything and changes his mind with the direction of the wind.

  37. ههههههههههههههههههههههههههههه

  38. Frenchmanaz says:

I am always amused at anyone who expects any leader to deliver a speech filled with bullet points regarding their plans on the subject at hand and those who criticize the gloss and marketing type message presented by these leaders. Giving anything more than was given or has ever been given in history is tantamount to playing a hand of poker with your cards face up on the table.

Marketing is no less a part of leadership than selling Coke, but anyone who saw no difference in the feel of Obama’s speech compared to Bush’s wasn’t really trying to hear the difference.

This was nothing more than a starting point and a critical one. The objective being to take the moderate Islamic world off the fence, at a time when they felt completely abandoned by the Western World. The impact of feeling heard cannot be underestimated and Obama succeeded in accomplishing this task, at least with many and most of the younger generation. People are sheep and if this gets even one Muslim to re-think his position or better yet decide to no longer protect anyone in his neighborhood who might be planning to throw down a road side bomb then the speech was worth it.

While the ills of the world are complex, ultimately the crux every issue boils down to the human condition. How people feel. Bush dragged the Islamic world through years of razor blades acting as though somehow he knew better, as if he was Jesus Christ annointing the Islamic world with his version of freedom. He wasn’t doing this because he actually cared about the plight of Muslims but because God ” told him to ” and because he desperately wanted to nail down a positive legacy, but like the idiot that he was he forgot that Muslim can actually think for themselves and do not want America’s version of freedom. That their spiritual belief system and deep cultural roots are vastly different than America’s.

Obama understands this, because his own experience is painted with a number of cultural brushes, this shows in the way he is approaching things on any number of fronts. He is showing genuine respect for the Muslim world. At this point, with his political hands tied behind his back with the GOP and so many other domestic and foreign ” enemies ” there is not much more he can do.

This speech was about one thing, testing the waters to see how the moderate Islamic world would react if shown the respect it’s history deserves.

It must also be noted that Obama’s objective was also to tame the anger in the Muslim world to diffuse the fear of the countless ignorant Americans who freak out if they see a man wearing a turban sitting next to them on the plane ( yes my objective in choosing turban was to point out the level of ignorance of many of these people who don’t even recognize the turban as being the dress of Sikhs, not Muslims. )

The show of genuine love for Obama by many Muslims on this so globally watched event will show these Americans that, with the right leader in the White House and if America shows the Muslim world that it is respected, how not all Muslims hate and want to wipe America off the face of the earth. This to me was obvious, because I have travelled the world over, but to Joe Idaho only sees what’s fed to him on TV.

Bush wasn’t interested in really being friends with the Muslim world, short of his oil buddies in the House of Saud.

What were you expecting SM, a power point presentation from Obama laying out each step ?

  39. EgyPeter says:

Carpet – Can you shoot me another email?

“Oh Code Pink, you bunch of unemployed leftist wankers, you made my day.”

LOL, a holdover from the far right lunatic fringe elitism is sneering the word “unemployed” at someone like it’s some kind of slur. Dude, the official unemployment rate in this country is 9.4%, the highest since Reagan, and in true numbers closer to 15%. You can snarl about Code Pink all you want on it’s other merits, but thinking you are insulting them by hurling the epithet “unemployed” at them might just now offend the Ruby Ridge types amongst your readership, who are now, well, unemployed themselves. Get current.

  42. CarpetCaptain:

  43. Good Report, thanks.

  44. Frenchmanz

. Bush dragged the Islamic world through years of razor blades acting as though somehow he knew better,

All 1.3 billion Muslims were dragged along by Bush, eh?

    His back must hurt.

  45. You say that Bush and Clinton gave speeches just like this. But honestly, what kind of attention did those speeches get? None.

Obama raised the sensitivity to those issues and he will be judged by what he said. Needless to say he could always get back to ignoring the Middle East like Bush without any problem for him.

  46. But we all knew this. It’s simply one of the conditions.

Let’s just wait what he does and then Boo him.

  47. You know Carpet..is it really necessary to post your “website”?

“Bush dragged the Islamic world through years of razor blades acting as though somehow he knew better”

Really how? He was out declaring Islam a Religion of Peace 3 days after they had killed 3000 Americans. There’s 24 million or so Iraqis who would diagree with you today. So he waterboarded a few terrorists big fucking deal they get worse in the shitholes they come from. Abu Ghraib was no worse than any prison in any Arab or Muslim country. I can’t believe the audacity of some of these muslim/arab rulers who have the balls to criticize it when there’s videos on youtube of Egyptian officers sodomizing a man with a broomstick. What was their sentence? 2 years in prison and they were reinstated after they came out.

  49. thanks for the write up!

  50. Frencmanaz,

This was nothing more than a starting point and a critical one. The objective being to take the moderate Islamic world off the fence, at a time when they felt completely abandoned by the Western World.

Then he failed badly at that, because the people who seem to have been smiling (or is it smirking?) the most after this speech were the Arabs and other Muslims who are most hostile to the United States. The people who were either tilting west or ambivalent about the west don’t seem to be very happy about it at all. Personally, I preferred Bush’s speeches when the folks who hate the US were screaming and yelling afterwards. It worries me when people who harbor ill will towards the US are happy about the conduct of a US President.

  51. #52 CarpetCaptain. Thank you! Lucid, precise, factual. You can’t please all the leftist propaganda spewing wankers out there, let ‘em keep reading the New York Times and stewin in their own ignorance. Good on you!

“Abu Ghraib was much better than any prison in any Arab or Muslim country.”
    Period, end of discussion.

Why is it America doesn’t just give all those prisoners in Gitmo back to the countries of the detainees origin? You know, those America hating, non democratic countries where the detainees grew up and learned their hate filled ideologies, what would be wrong with that?

Have you seen those Egyptian police videos of how they treat their own citizens? Still these idiots have the nerve to bring up Abu Ghraib or Gitmo! Moral relativism at it’s worst. They can’t or won’t acknowledge the irony or shallowness of their beliefs!

  52. “LOL, a holdover from the far right lunatic fringe elitism is sneering the word “unemployed” at someone like it’s some kind of slur. Dude, the official unemployment rate in this country is 9.4%, the highest since Reagan”

Don’t be a douche bag, that was Carter’s legacy, Reagan put people back to work, check your history. Obama is the Carter Redo. Don’t you people ever learn?

  53. Skidude says:

Great blog Sando. I am curious. I saw some of the speech on TV and it is obvious that he gave it in english. Was it translated into Arabic for the audience, or did the Great One expect that everyone in Cairo would speak English? What about the various Muslim TV stations? Did they at least provide translations?

    Thanks in advance

  54. Craig,

    Several points:

I think the point is that for a long time, the Arab/Islamic street has been bombarded with anti-American propaganda-type pov’s and rhetoric that aims to paint the US as the enemy to be feared and despised – with very little contest/response from the US.

I guess US policy in the past has been that anti-American rhetoric was only a problem if it was also Communist. The Americans clearly did not think the Islamists could present a serious threat or the US would never have befriended the likes of the House of Saud – and the Afghan Arabs.

Following 9/11, when the realization dawned on Washington that a bunch of riled-up religious fanatics COULD after all be a problem, one of the responses should have been a serious attempt to gain ground in the ‘image’ war, to engage and create a ‘pro-American’ camp within those societies in order to:

    1) Isolate today’s terrorists within their own communities.
    2) Prevent the next generation from also growing up also hearing only one poisonous anti-American pov.

This is not rocket science or beyond the capabilities of the US by any means, as you guys demonstrated during the Cold War. It is simply that the other side has invested more for longer in this battle and you guys need to get serious and play catch up.

A lot of people – both in the Islamic World – and elsewhere feel that Bush failed to address that aspect – that in many cases he aggravated the situation.

I am one of those people. From that perspective, Obama’s job as a US president is to begin that process of recovery. Everytime, ordinary people – especially the next generation – get to hear America speak for itself – as opposed to America being spoken of – is in my opinion a step forward. The higher the profile – the bigger the audience, the bigger the positive impact. And Obama’s personal charisma and popularity is definitely a plus here because let’s face it, it gets more people to pay attention to him. At the end of the day, no one can present your pov as well as you can, right?

From that perspective, I think the speech was a good start. An American president spoke to Arabs/Muslims – not at them. Vast numbers listened, agreed or disagreed but generally felt he was trying to engage them and be respectful. The fact that what he said may have been said by other American presidents is to be expected. American interests don’t change just because you have a new president. It’s just that some presidents may present them better than others. And Obama was certainly a vast improvement on both Bush and Clinton there.

It remains to be seen whether this will be a one-off or will be followed up with a sustained effort to build influence and upstage the other side – which has pretty much had the stage to itself so far.

I think it is ridiculous to expect more from a speech.

Yes, there are real and tangible geopolitical disputes between the US and many Muslim peoples. These will requires a lot of work and tangible changes on the ground to resolve. They can’t be addressed with PR. But I never agreed with the premise that we have to resolve all our difference in order to not hate or kill each other. I think it is the other way around. Political conflicts require pragmatic solutions. And people can’t be pragmatic enough when there is so much fear and distrust.

“Personally, I preferred Bush’s speeches when the folks who hate the US were screaming and yelling afterwards. It worries me when people who harbor ill will towards the US are happy about the conduct of a US President.”

All due respect Craig but that’s just allowing yourself to be manipulated by master propagandists. When extremists go out on the streets and burn effigies and flags and agitate, they’re doing it because they see an opening they can exploit in the propaganda war and the trying to capitalize on it, either to help their recruitment or draw attention away from their own failure. Bush certainly gave them a lot of these virtually everytime he opened his mouth.

To think you’re ok whenever they look mad is a little naive. It is the reverse. To me, it is always better when these people are making less noise and are in the news less, than when they’re out there screaming, poisoning the discourse and intimidating/drowning out more moderate and rational voices.

  55. Sand Ape says:

Positive healthy re affirmation is the only way to proceed but it is futile when you are ruled under a dictatorship, unless those dictators really want you to believe that you are in mortal danger, and then when you give in. Egypt’s treatment of the cops is unacceptable and they will pay dearly for it. As far as the Arab Israeli orifice goes, it is sheer treason to logic what is going on over there.

The false consensus is that; because Palestine isn’t a Utopia nor a recognized nation, it is therefore ok to just take it and claim it as your own land. What would the Bible and Talmud say about such a belligerent theft? Even if you feel it is your land then please, by all means live in it, don’t found your nation on Lynch mobs worse than Darfur then turn into terrorists and blow up the King David hotel and still expect to live their in peace. Livni’s dad was responsible for that and was branded a terrorist by the US and the British yet you hear her say that she must eradicate terrorism LMAO! It’s an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth world. Israel is the instigator, unfortunately this world isn’t fair and holocaust suffering doesn’t make it alright for you to proceed in such a manner and continually try defend such a position. Obama admitted that the US did some bad things in his speech, now admit the same thing and there might be a worth while peace. But I am afraid that Israel is too traumatized from the Holocaust to go that route.

    I and the Public know
    What all school children learn,
Those to whom Evil is done
    Do Evil in return.

    W.H. Auden

But ofourse everyone already knows that!

  56. …even if the price is that the democracy activists in Egypt get fucked. But then again, the democracy activists in Egypt didn;t really like it when Bush was calling for democracy and human rights, so maybe they deserve it…

Or maybe you fuckwits stop whinging like little girls and kick out your leaders yourselves. Stop waiting for us to bail your sorry asses out when you fuckwits can easily do it yourselves.

No one is to blame for the inability to support democracy in Egypt but yourselves sandmonkey.

BTW, you can stop trying to appease neocons and fuckwits from JihadWatch. Their significance has been long gone since the 2008 election, thank God.

You’re still a neocon sell out in my book. Nothing to be proud of.

  57. “Why is it America doesn’t just give all those prisoners in Gitmo back to the countries of the detainees origin?”

Tedders I’ve always wondered that myself. Send the Egyptians to Egypt, the Uyghurs to China (and no Virginia isn’t part of China) and so on. I guarantee you half of those scumbags will swim back to Guantanamo and sign up for daily waterboardings with brakfast, lunch and dinner.

” Egypt’s treatment of the cops is unacceptable and they will pay dearly for it.”

Does this mean the Cops as in oink oink or the Copts as in Kafirs, blue bones etc etc? I assume the former and in which case it should be the treatment BY the cops NOT OF the cops. Having said that I shouldn’t expect “It” to know any better.

“But I am afraid that Israel is too traumatized from the Holocaust to go that route.”

I Dont see how this whole peace thing is going to be rewarding for them. They’ve been in peace with Egypt for over 30 years now and listen to the public opinion on a Cairo street. Hell even pick up a magazine or a newspaper and you’ll see at least two caricatures and an article calling them names and riling the public opinion against them. We’ve had Farook Hosni who is as liberal as they come with anti hijab comments come out and say I’d burn any Israeli books you’d find in Cairo. THIS IS THE FUCING MINISTER OF CULTURE. In one of two Arab countries with PEACE ACCORDS with Israel. We have the Egyptian Pope telling us not to visit Israel (i’m going this winter) and the Minister of Awkaf saying make sure as many people visit as possible so the Jews can’t lay claim to Jerusalem! How do you expect Israel to enter into peace negotiations with a country that elected a party that clearly states in its charter that Israel must be eliminated. Would you?

Was bombing the Hotel David a terrorist act? Yes absafuckinglutely, were there several other terrorist acts yes. Was Sharon complicit in Sabra and Shatila yes indeed. Both sides have dirty hands. Having said that in more recent history Israel has not initiated the violence; they’ve responded to it in kind. I don’t buy this disproportionate crap. If someone punches me in the face and gives me a fat lip I have every right to break his nose, cheek bone, an arm and two legs. If you think its excessive then don’t touch me!

  58. CarpetCaptain,

as much as I love my country it ain’t easy roling with 30 million “unemployed leftist wankers”

    Wow, entire Canadian population!

  59. “Wow, entire Canadian population”

Nope i left out the other 4 million that live in Alberta our version of Texas.

  60. Sand Ape says:

    I meant Copts* BTW CarpetCaptain.

And I will continue to tell it like it is and you are most free to disagree with me and continue to display the epitome of Egyptian Coptic morals – Not!

I am afraid you have failed terribly at doing so by continually trying to be rude, defiant and ignorant. Especially while you have already left your Coptic brothers and the Church in the dust to basically wither into oblivion. Admit it, you have given up on them and that is why you refuse to follow this sincerest of all forms of Christianity, merely because you feel they don’t have a strong enough response to what is happening here. Actually Muslims and Jews follow an eye for an eye, not Copts or any form of true Christianity.

Thank you for making it clear that you are no longer a practicing Copt nor a part of the Egyptian Coptic church anymore. Our father doesn’t tell us to merely avoid visiting Jerusalem, he explicitly states that anyone who even disagrees with this ruling is in grave error and anyone who actually goes there, whether it be known or not, has defied the Church and is permanently discommunicated in the eyes of God and can never return to the congregation again.

So what religion did you say you belonged to again?

However I will not take advantage of this but merely urge you to reconsider putting yourself in such a terrible position for your own sake Ricky. Do you even know the enormity of what you are saying?

    Secondly, you say that…
“If someone punches me in the face and gives me a fat lip I have every right to break his nose, cheek bone, an arm and two legs. If you think its excessive then don’t touch me!”

As you stated Israel’s hands are dirty, obviously for trying to make a come back to THEIR-(LOL) so called homeland, God never said it was exclusively their homeland alone! So it is common sense that unless they repent, the natural course of action is to want to return the beating they have inflicted on Christian and Muslim Palestinians ten fold, as you have clearly stated.

Please don’t act like you genuinely care about the Arab Israeli conflict when you don’t even care about the Coptic Church or respect the ruling that was made by the Father of all Fathers – the inimitable Pope Shnouda.

I can honestly say I pity you.

  61. “Tedders I’ve always wondered that myself. Send the Egyptians to Egypt, the Uyghurs to China (and no Virginia isn’t part of China) and so on. I guarantee you half of those scumbags will swim back to Guantanamo and sign up for daily waterboardings with brakfast, lunch and dinner.”

Hardly. Some might. The rest if ever put into jail will be treated as heroes and quickly released to continue with their Jihad.

  62. “I meant Copts* BTW CarpetCaptain”

Since when you’ve spent god knows how many countless hours fighting me and Peter on the simplest demands of legitimate rights for the Copts.

“So what religion did you say you belonged to again? ”

Non of your fucking business this isn’t your scumbag country’s ID that requires people to list their religion and doesn’t allow them to change it from Muslim.

“Thank you for making it clear that you are no longer a practicing Copt nor a part of the Egyptian Coptic church anymore. Our father”

Hmmmmmm did you issue me a fatwa you stupid wanker? What father are you talking about? You’re claiming to be a copt now? hahahahaha Get back on the meds kiddo!

“he explicitly states that anyone who even disagrees with this ruling is in grave error and anyone who actually goes there, whether it be known or not, has defied the Church and is permanently discommunicated in the eyes of God and can never return to the congregation again. ”

Show me where he says anything about EXcommunicating. Wrong religion asshole! We dont have apostasy laws!

“Please don’t act like you genuinely care about the Arab Israeli conflict when you don’t even care about the Coptic Church or respect the ruling that was made by the Father of all Fathers – the inimitable Pope Shnouda”

You can care about an issue and disagree with how its addressed. There’s no part of the Bible that says you leave our church for disagreeing with your pope. There are parts that clearly state that lusting, gambling and drunkenness are sins but there’s another part that says he without a sin may cast the first stone.

“Please don’t act like you genuinely care about the Arab Israeli conflict when you don’t even care about the Coptic Church or respect the ruling that was made by the Father of all Fathers – the inimitable Pope Shnouda”

Pity yourself you mindless twit! You can’t even remember what your positions were yesterday and what religion you claimed to be!

  63. Sand Ape says:

HAHA you still think you are Copt!!!

Never have I once ever explicitly combated the legitimate rights of Copts with anyone, especially not with you or Peter for that matter. I simply never did such a thing and you are completely mistaken. Provide one sentence where I did that. I do admit I said it is a shame you guys are doing more harm to our cause than you can possibly fathom with all your wing-nut Insults on Islam and talking shit like Egyptians are not Arab’ etc.

Do you truly really believe that all Copts in Egypt subscribe to your views, especially those higher in oligarchy of the Church? Obviously you wouldn’t know as there are many ways to get excommunicated from the Church, what planet do you live on again? One way to get excommunicated is by becoming Muslim after becoming Copt, Insultingthe Church by not abiding with the rulings (not Fatwa’s). I don’t know one practicing Copt that behaves like you. And in case you fail to realize I am Copt by birth, my family is Coptic. My grandmother was Maria Tadros for Gods sake. Who are you tryna fool with your cockamamie attitude? Referring to Egypt as a shit hole and not your country anymore. Do you really think you are American because they gave you lowsy green card on compassionate grounds for religous persecution no doubt!? Quite tryna appease your hosts and get with the program. I won’t insult you back because Ithat is too easy and I take pride in living a healthy lifestyle. Thanks for tryna avoid the whole Israel thievery issue and succumbing to your ad hominem attacks as usual. I can safely say that you are on the other side of the fence now. I still pity you BTW

  64. Interesting. It would be nice to believe that simply because an American President sucks up to the Muslim world in a speech the world will change. (snark)

You all know this is silly. What do you want from us? You so-called moderates? You want us to sit on our hands next time a Sadam Hussein comes along and threatens to invade all your lands and set himself up as the muslim messiah? OK. We can do that.

All we ever wanted from you was your stinking oil and not only did we give you the tech and know-how to pull it out of the ground…. we pay you thru the nose for it. For this you hate our guts. Phooey on you.

(And don’t give me that ‘Crusader’ crap. That was a thousand years ago.)

No you hate us because of Israel. That tiny speck of desert all y’all have been killing folks over for 5000 years. (I said ALL y’all and you know the Jew is your half brother.) Get over it.

Fact is we could care less about you. You stink. You abuse women and you don’t believe in freedom. You won’t fight for it and if it was handed to you you’d crap on it. Soon’s your oil is gone you all can rot. And you will.

  67. Somebody watched “Body of Lies” a few times too many…

  68. Former U.S. President and Nobel Peace Prize Winner Jimmy Carter said Sunday that the United States should work with whichever coalition wins — even though it considers Hezbollah, which is supported by both Syria and Iran, to be a terrorist organization.

News flash for CNN: Hezbolah *is* a terrorist group. Check and see how many western journalists they held hostage in the 1980s? Seems like even CNN would admit that is terrorism, no? And do we not consider plane hijacking and suicide bombing terrorism, any more? Hmmm.

News flash to Jimmy Carter: The US is at war with international terrorist groups, such as Hezbollah. The US not should NOT be “working with” an organization that we want to destroy. the US should not be “working with” any institution in Lebanon, as Hezbollah is in defacto control of the country regardless of the results of this election.

  69. If the Muslim Nation (in Obama’s mind) is pinning its hopes on obama, God help you. Study what he did as a community organizer and state legislator……that is a clear sign of what he has in store for the USA and the middle east, and it is not a pretty sight.

  70. Sand Ape says:

What a bunch of wanna be right wingnuts with completely simple minded one track pee brain comments.

  71. Why don’t all the right-wing jerkoffs and the wannabe e-jihadis just flock to Iraq or Swat and kill each other off? It would spare the rest of the world their idiocy, especially the rantings of fuckwit cunts like Craig.

  72. Well, fuck you very much H. I wonder where the rest of the world would be if people like you were calling the shots? :o

  73. Craig,

You are being baited. One troll more, one troll less. Who cares. Pay no mind and troll will eventually end up talking to himself.

  74. Sand Ape says:

Yes Craig, listen to leo and rkeep rolloing with him and other like minded trolls like yourself and just keep sipping from the neocon fountain of racist hate. Haha haha.

“H” you are the man for telling it like it is.

    H = 1
    Craig & leo = 0

  75. Mohamed says:

    Sand Ape,
Craig’s not a neocon, assuming that he even knows what a neocon is would be raising the expectations of his non existent brain. He’s just a traumatized evil little racist child with a grudge against humanity and a huge affinity for hate, violence, suffering etc. .

  76. Sandape;

if you feel it is your land then please, by all means live in it, don’t found your nation on Lynch mobs worse than Darfur

This is precisely why the Palestian Cause(TM) doesn’t garner that much international sympathy. Unrealistic comparisons.

“We have the Egyptian Pope telling us not to visit Israel ”

    article/link?

  78. http://www.thedailynewsegypt.com/article.aspx?ArticleID=7465

    http://www.sis.gov.eg/En/EgyptOnline/Politics/000007/0201000000000000006487.htm

Nony: Its at the bottom of both articles.

SandPieceofshit: I dont have hosts, I’ve been a citizen for about 17 years and for the record I didnt come in as a refugee like you and your turban wearing friends I bought my way into the country as a qualified investor. Also for the record my views are known to the Church and senior clergy (generally people that wouldn’t cross the street to piss on you if you were on fire). Your great grandmother was Coptic Maria the slave that was gifted to Mohammad by Muqawkis whom he did not marry but had a child with. For the record Egyptians are not Arabs. We existed long before the bedouin invasion and were a country and a civilization before any of your desert dwelling, goat fucking terrorist grandparents invaded our lands so GFYS!

  79. Mohamed says:

See Sand Ape, you can never use reason or logic with such pathologically ridiculous creatures like Carpet Captain, the best thing you can do is to feel really relieved that you had normal parents who didn’t completely fuck you up when you were very small, otherwise you’d be suffering and consumed by hate and anger your entire life as he is and will be unless he starts intensive
psychoanalysis sessions. Sorry for you being you Carpet Captain, I know it’s
    sucks.

  80. EgyPeter says:

Egypt is about as much ‘arab’ as Israel, or Turkey, or Iran.

CarpetCaptain is right, Egypt existed a few years (4000) before the Arab Invasion. And after Alexandria and the rest of the country was subdued, the population didn’t magically turn into Arabs. As a matter of fact, there were periods when Egyptian Muslims hated their Arab overlords as much as the Egyptian Christians.

The current toilet that Egypt is now is a direct result of continuing pan-arabism in the country.

  81. ” relieved that you had normal parents who didn’t completely fuck you ”

I’m sure that neither of you could even figure out who your real father is let alone whether they fucked you or fucked you up! Scuttle douchebgs!

“You are being baited. One troll more, one troll less. Who cares. Pay no mind and troll will eventually end up talking to himself.”

Its the same troll like Leo said “it” has an identity crisis

  82. Sand Ape says:

Hi Mohamed, nice to see you back buddy!

I know Craig is not a neocon or can even comprehend what the word means. I was quoting H who wiped the floor with him, that’s it :)

As far as the CarpetCrapper is concerned, he is making it up to the ranks of Craig pretty darn quick. I love his lame ass statement that he bought his citizenship and calls it his country, yet claims he has no roots anywhere else, such as places like Egypt. You are absolutely right, he sound like a pretty traumatized immigrant to me. Great analysis BTW.

There logic is so damn weak. The Muslim Arab invasion to Egypt haha haha, sick.
Egypt at the time spoke Arabic, The word Arab comes from Abraham and Amharic, which the slaves of ancient Egypt, (Arabs) soon to be children of Israel were Arabs. There were several languages back then. Copts speak Arabic and consider themselves Arabs. But EgyPutter and CarpetCrapper have different version of history and Coptism, the Shia version of Coptism that is based on having deep feelings of having been betrayed and abused.

I gues Americans arent Americans they are red indians lol ha ha ha, and Brits aren’t Brits, they are vikings and Anglo Saxons ha ha ha ha, Sweet!!!!!

Man I have bever seen a blog with so much crap and hate and emotionally deluded dick wits.

  83. Sand Ape I clearly remember you saying that you do not practice either the Christian nor Muslim faith, so which is it?

  84. Sand Ape says:

@ ??? you obviously haven’t read all my posts.

Love is my religion, that should make perfect sense. That includes God (we’ll get into that in a sec), God and country (humanity).

Mohamed check this out and tell me what you think too.

My maternal grandparents are very prominent Copts here in Egypt. Like I even care about that, I aint like Sandmonkey trying to say I am old school money and crap like that. Because in the end we are not judged by anyone but God and He doesn’t judge by such weak criteria. He judges by character and actions. Let there be no confusion about that.

My paternal grandparents are moderate Muslims, by no means slackers who can be baited by neocons and Shia Copts.

So to answer your question, where does it state in the Muslim faith (complete Chapter, not just singled out mistranslated verses) that Jesus
can not be revered in Islam and the principles of the Coptic faith followed to a “T” and still be considered a complete and legitimate practising Muslim of God’s last testament?

It is common knowledge that true Christians do not believe Jesus to be the son of God. Its like saying these cowboys are real sons of Texas, does that mean that Texas copulated with Nevada and gave birth to these cowboys? No, OBVIOUSLY NOT!

Many Copts affirm that Jesus is savior, because he is coming back to save the world and he was sent as a prophet, so do all Muslims. In the Coptic religion we are all considered God’s children (as a figure of speech). Jesus never died on any cross in a lot of peoples mind’s and even if he did, that is a small detail for he is factually coming back to rally all believers of God (Submitters )

What hits closest to home is the Egyptian governments lack of human rights, Copts, Islam. Then next, what is happening across from Dahab, Sinai; those murderous descendant’s of Zionist terrorists that have a get out of jail free card because there big brother is Rothschild who heads the world banking alliance. Money will do that. Everything is intere$t, intere$t, inetere$t, they own the God damn monetary system. Its OK to forclose on peoples homes as long as they are not Jewish. So screw them, what happened to good Christian values that all men are created equal, which is also the essence of Islam?

So I am perfectly in order as a practitioner of either faith to condemn whomever I feel is responsible or these atrocities or whomever takes sides with the perpetrators, as is the case with the Charlatans on this blog. No matter which faith I lean towards in anyones oopion, although it should be obvious.

  85. Mohamed says:

    Carpet Captain,
Chill down my little freak. Don’t get super hysterical and start foaming and drooling, it makes you look even more irrational and unbalanced, and to be more honest makes you look totally gay in a drama queenish kind of way.
    Sand Ape,
What religion anyone is, is mostly just a roll of the dice (one’s parents).

  86. Jessica says:

    Red Indians?
    Native Americans.

I think you’ve insulted a lot more people than intended

  87. thanks carpet captain- i never knew this.

  88. Love is my religion…

You are a very confused individual, Sand Ape. Your comments are as hateful as any I’ve ever seen in an online forum, and I started on the BBS system in the 1980s so I’ve been around online forums a bit. If you think what you are doing is an expression of love then you must be the worst lover in the history of man.

  89. So… uh… anyway… Sand Ape, your current spiel is that you are Muslim AND Christian? :D

  90. EgyPeter says:

“There logic is so damn weak. The Muslim Arab invasion to Egypt haha haha, sick. Egypt at the time spoke Arabic”

Egypt spoke Arabic at the time of the Arab Invasion?? Is that right Sand Ape? Do you know that you are wrong? Most of the stuff I read from you comes off as total gibberish, a 3rd grader can often put a coherent sentence significantly better than you.

And then you followed up with:

“But EgyPutter and CarpetCrapper have different version of history and Coptism, the Shia version of Coptism that is based on having deep feelings of having been betrayed and abused.”

WTF are you talking about kid? Who’s got the retarded version of history?? It ain’t me. I’m actually educated and learned Sand Ape. And that’s precisely why I have the ACCURATE version of History…unlike you and most of the rest of the ignoramus Egyptians running around Egypt.

It’s all so freakin hilarious to me.

  91. Did you get that Peter? Egypt spoke Arabic before the ARAB invasion….I need a refresher course in hisotry I guess OR someone is deluded.

    “Chill down my little freak”

MO: The only little freak is in your pants…..keep it there…..theres enough of you degenerates out there!

“It is common knowledge that true Christians do not believe Jesus to be the son of God. Its like saying these cowboys are real sons of Texas, does that mean that Texas copulated with Nevada and gave birth to these cowboys? No, OBVIOUSLY NOT!”

SandPieceofShit: Really Now! True Christians dont believe that eh…..nice! Again thanks for the refresher course on Christianity from a so called half breed! One piece of advice its beter to stay quiet and let people assume you’re an idiot than open your mouth and confirm it. You’ve confirmed it eloquently like you an nothing else.

“OK to forclose on peoples homes as long as they are not Jewish”

And yes the banks go make sure that the last name isnt a Berg, Stein or Child before they foreclose. You see foreclosure is a targeted measure against Blacks, whites, Hispanics, Arabs, Chinese and East Indians. It doesn’t apply to Jews, its part of the Zionist movement to evict all others from North America 8-) What a fucking paranoid delusional dimwit!

Nony: Its a little known fact thats usually for local consumption within Egypt to avoid the appearance of being aligned with the US and therefore the “zionists” as is fashionable these days to call anyone who doesnt jump on the anti west bandwagon.

  92. Sand Ape says:

HA AH HA HA @ “And that’s precisely why I have the ACCURATE version of History.” Whatever…..Israeli’s are really Palestinians too because before the Israeli invasion it was Palestine, so in your logic, Egypt are not Arabs and Israeli are not Israeli’s they are Palestinians. Nice version of historical logic if you ask me. Get over it you are wrong and and best don’t know how to express what you are trying to say lol lol.

  93. Roman Kalik says:

So… uh… anyway… Sand Ape, your current spiel is that you are Muslim AND Christian? :D

Craig, from having read far too many of Sand Ape’s comments so far, I honestly expect him to claim Hinduism and Buddhism as well. Give it time.

  94. perhaps Obama’s team should produce tour t-shirts that read:

“OBAMA BONE IN THE USA world Tour 2009″

I had one similar back in the 80s put out by the band Fishbone until some kid stole it from me.

  95. It of course was a spoof of the Springsteen “Born in the USA” tour.

  96. Obama’s speech was more important for the American people to hear than who he was addressing.

I mean the Arab publics -at least some of them- will soon become aware that Obama’s drone massacres in Pakistan and current occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan will not end. He plans on it.

  97. Sand Ape says:

Roman kalik as a pseudo God fearing jerk, one that denies Jesus, Mohamed and all other religions as false and Jews as being better and chosen over all mankind you sectarian devil, you are’nt one to comment on matters of faiths and tolerance you descendant of Hagana terrorists and Irgun lynch mobs. Invest in forensic psychiatry for your people and get with the times, you are traumatized enemies of God, END of STORY!

An eye for an eye bitch….

  102. “Death to all jewish bankers who want to ruin their communities and run the world with their wealth. If satan was the creator then you fools might have a chance, but since God is the creator, you all are doomed”

Its official you’ve lost the plot!

” I honestly expect him to claim Hinduism and Buddhism”

Roman: Those are not “approved religions” for Egyptian ID cards so no its not going to happen! lol

  103. Sand Ape says:

RugBurns, how much did your citizenship cost again you traumatized immigrant, I would sure like know how much a civilized country charges to sell itself out and allow a lunatic like you inside its borders. Your parents in Midan el Messaha are saying hi. Do you want any pig meat from here, you know the ones that gorge on all of Cairo’s garbage after Shia Copts remove all the organic waste with their bare hands, a little something to suit your gentic tastes lol? Yum yum!

  104. I always love it when it’s the trolls who lose it in the threads they are trolling :)

Thanks, Sand Ape. You made my day!

  105. Oy. The Rothschilds yet?

Are we back in 1930′s Germany?

Please – a little common sense!

How are we going to reconcile give the popularity of these outrageous, hoary old lies?

Millions – MILLIONS – of people have already died because of them.

President Obama is TRYING to get people to see each other as human beings, as the brothers we truly are.

We all – ALL of us – confront serious problems with hunger, climate change, our animals and plants are dying off and the seas are polluted.

We just can’t afford this blind, stupid hate. We really must start helping each other. Our little planet is in terrible trouble, and all the beings on it.

    Peace?

  106. Sand Ape says:

    Sophie

it is common knowledge that bankers rare the elite that run the world. The house of Rothschild is veru much alive still. It is even more common knowledge that 85% of bankers are Jewish. Jews believe they are not created equal to the rest of man. So what in the hell are you talking about? Conspiracies ha ha ha ha. WHATEVER! They are called truths. The dilema is how to keep them in check so the world can live peacefully. They are a parasite that controls its host.

I never said a god damn thing until an elitist troll started spewing derogatory shit. Is it pleasant to keep bringing to the attention of the world how lame the Jewish faith is with its unproven dogmas and elitist jargon?’

In my honest opinion it is extremely unfair for God to have put us all on this earth with them. Extremely unfair.

    So give peace a chance…..

Nanny nanny boo boo, I am jewish I am better than you. Its my land…God gave it to me so i can kill you if you wont let me kill your family. God said i could so nanny nanny boo boo, I am better than you. You are not equal to me….

I take your land and build illegal settlements with no regard to humanity or human ethics and you can’t do anything about it. I am retarded, a Zionist and an Israeli. It is my destiny!

Obama will further peace more than any predecessor ever has, only because he is the most formidable diplomat and politician that world has seen in recent times. And he knows that to continue to forge an alliance with a criminal nation, based on the grounds that 2 wrongs makes a right, is not in the best interest of American security.

Craig you are the blog mascot, a simpleton at best with extreme developmental problems. If i were you I would run with your tail between your legs like puffer boy Adam B.

    :)

  107. Sand Ape says:

Can Obama make the Zionists desist? Well he will need the help of Glaxo-Klein-Squib-Pfizer to do so. I say send tons of Prozac into occupied Palestine through the tunnels and then just sit it out!

Occupied Palestine is a mass hostage terrorist situation. Call the negotiators in…the Untouchables!

  108. Sand Ape says:

Listen to racist jargon of Craig, tedders, leo, RK, peter, carpet and all the other bashers here. I couldn’t keep up with them even if I tried. This is an anti Arab, anti Muslim blog troll heaven.

Sure Arabs have their faults but for these guys to act like their own shit don’t stink while pointing the (feces) finger at anyone who questions their racism, calls for a dose of their own medicine. Till people in office whom these trolls are emulating, cease and desist with each motherfucker admitting their faults, keep smoking the peace pipe. Want some really good free base to go with that or purple haze if youre a hippi?

  109. SandPieceOFshit: You might want to reconsider the direction of food flow from my country to yours. Next time you’re eating a piece of bread remember that half of that was donated by the good people of the western world and mostly in bags that say US AID!

Since you bring up the pigs you must be really proud of the slaughter of 1/2 a million or so animals in the most inhumane way (by burying them alive in lime). A society’s civility is measured by how well or bad it takes care of its weakest, poorest and animals. In one swoop you managed to demonstrate to the entire world what a bunch of barbaric religious zealots you are. Kudos on bringing that one up dumbass! You brutally slaughter half a million animals and essentially destroy the livelihood of the country’s poorest segment. Well done! I hope your mother in Boulaq or Imbaba or wherever the hell you’re from is proud!

  110. Sand Ape says:

Actually CarpetAssWipe, you are not worth the insults, because that would portray that perhaps I am angry with you, but while you are at it you chunk of rotting Shia-Coptic swine. The whole point of the pig cull was to pay the Coptic Zabaleen (garbage dump inhabitants) from whom your mother and father and grandparents are descendants of you arrogant flea infested stud of the slums; a handsome U.S.$100 for each pig and to try and relocate them out of the slums and avail them the opportunity to live sanitary lives and build a new identity for themselves. Convincing them to stop spreading Hep C, as Copts are the number one transmitters of the damn virus in the entire region and the ministry of health can’t keep up with them. Read on bitch…

Do you even know what they do there? They recycle discarded syringes and make new ones with the contaminated plastic that doesn’t even reach proper melting temperatures in industrial ovens, which is a prerequisite to kill the viruses and bacteria, but instead goes into make shift incinerators before they recycle them and repackage them and sell them as new. They are killing Egypt with non sense, that foreigners here are afraid to buy Egyptian medical products. They give bribes to officials who can’t even enter the slums due to the malicious odors and smells of rotting organic material filling the air with anaerobic bacteria (the smell of death).

So you got it all wrong. You think you know child, but you haven’t stepped out of your racist suit to take a good look at the circumstances, so you actually know nothing. You are an advocate of their demise with your closed and one track minded racist howls of inflicted suffering. Who wouldn’t want a better life for these people except for the likes of you who needs to continue to portray them as victims of aggression, so all your buddies can join you by getting discounts on their business migration or continue to win refugee status claims costing us tax payers an arm and a leg. Because they are too dumb and out of touch with reality to want to change their lifestyles. The minute you take them away from the grime, disease and filth, they return. But with no pigs, even they won’t be able to survive and will have to move on to healthier lives. So eat them tidbits for a while bitch….

I don’t doubt that you are an excellent and skilled vendor and easily got accepted as an immigrant, after all you are the most determined peddler of hate that has ever come from the loins of any Copt that has ever lived.

By all means, a societies humanity is based on how well they treat their weakest members and that’s exactly why EVEN Egypt with its immaculate record on human rights is trying to teach them new habits and to finally leave the rat infested slums. Every Western tourist that pass by there in a bus or on their own ask what in God’s name is that smell of death? When they find out, they say how inhumane, how can anyone live like that, aren’t there laws about living amidst rotting corpses and pig feces and the spreading of diseases like that? what an inhumane country Egypt is, and I wouldn’t blame them for thinking that so that’s why Egypt is doing something about it.

Another thing you cunt face Zabaleen of Shoubra, yad ya mitnak.

My whole family lives in either Zamalek, Garden City or Digla. Places you have only visited as a tourist, which I believe prompted you to watch foreign movies as a kid and want to leave Egypt , like the whining disgruntled bitch that you are.

AGAIN, I was born and raised in the good old “US of A” you shit for brain, while you were still playing in pig feces. I am second generation by birth, so eat that you ugly Egyptian first generation fucking immigrant, swine piece of shit. I can’t even read or write Arabic like you, you dumb fuck wanker. Arabic is your fist language, you leave links to Arabic websites half the time that no one on this blog can understand. So how dare you make racist accusations of calibre little one, you obviously should learn next time before someone else mops the floor with you a second time. Savor that bitch……

I tried being just a little polite with until today, when Mr. Milad at the Church said you are an apostate piece of shit by all measures when I let him read your posts — just to be sure — and he said when attacked, physically or verbally in usual circumstances, reply back with kind words 3 times then if that person does not cease and desist. Protect your rights by any means necessary. I loved it, Mr. Milad: the church caretaker turned out to be a Jihadist.

While Muslims quote from the Quran, something to the equivalent of “God is vengeance” from the Bible, saying just ignore these bashers (the equivalent of troll on the blogosphere).

You are an ignoramus hate child of the country that wears its badge on your ugly face without you even knowing it. Enough with your ignorant tomfoolery.

Learn to smile you traumatized immigrant and denounce racism you sack of shit instead of coming loose at the hinges all the time and then see what makes you a better more spiritually in tuned healthy person.

  111. Oh my, it looks like our friend CarpetCaptain got torn a new asshole….OUCH!!!

  112. And, I have come here today to seek a new beginning between Sand Ape and CarpetCaptain, one based upon mutual interest and mutual respect; and one based upon the truth that Sand Ape’s and CarpetCaptain’s values are not exclusive, and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles – principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.

  113. Sand Ape says:

Mona – Priceless, but No-Comment Obama girl.

Ay you wouldn’t be the Mona who used to post here a few years back would you, the one who pissed off all the bashers, if so what happened to you? If it’s you, you gotta give me your phone number home girl, I have been wondering about you. Please don’t make me beg, I mean what better incentive is there to heed your words?

And if it ain’t you, then sorry, you go Obama girl!

  114. Sand Ape,
Sorry, I am not that girl. I am Mona- the peacemaker.

  115. As much as I detest Sand Ape’s posts and doubt very much that Egyptians spoke Arabic prior to Arab invasion, but still …

What was the language of Egyptians 14 centuries ago?
Are any of you implying Egyptians were using hieroglyphs up until such a late time in history?
    Where is Egyptian language?
    How does it sound like?
Why Egyptians do not teach/learn Egyptian language?
If Copts have language of their own, is this actual Egyptian language?

  116. Sand Ape says:

leo good point. The word Coptic is an Arabic word that is transliterated and pronounced OPTI in Arabic. It means ORIGINAL or ORTHODOX or NATIVE. It is an Arabic word given to the inhabitants of Egypt by the Ancient Greeks after several years of trade, long before the advent of Christianity. Jewish Arabs and Pagan Arab traders referred to them by this name as well. After the advent of Islam, Muslim Arabs followed suit. Would it be so strange to believe that several languages were spoken in the kingdom of Pharaoh, such as but not limited to Old Greek, Hebrew-Ivri, Amharic-old Arabic? So to answer your question about the phonetics of that era, the answer is anybodies guess because nobody knows. When God wiped them off the map to save the children of Israel, he did an extremely good job. I give credit where credit is due.

Arabic was brought in way before the Muslim Arab conquest. Before that the second language of Egypt was Old Greek since there was a vibrant trade between them and the peoples of what is now Greece.

As a result of several conquests the Egyptian language became a totally lost language. In the nineteenth century the Rosetta Stone was discovered with a short history and all the Languages of the Pharaonic era were etched into it. Which included two dialects of Ancient Egyptian-hieroglyphs as well as Classical Greek. This allowed for the translation of the hieroglyphs.

After the Islamic invasions, according to Egyptology it states that in his study the Copts maintain an original culture.

Keep one fact in mind, before this happened why did the original Egyptians hide their belief in the ancient cult of Egyptian mythology, until the advent of Coptic Christianity that was so similar to the cult of Osiris in so many ways. Could the cult of Osiris actually had an impact on how modern day Christianity is practised? If so, no wonder Jews don’t want to accept Christianity coz they were there where it all happened. It’s true, the “cult” of Osiris seems to mirror what is the Christian Church, especially the Catholic Church. The comparisons are amazing. Except for the names of the characters the liturgy is almost identical.

For instance, take the Osirian sacrament. Although there were ethical and ceremonial considerations none of these could compare to the power of the divine Eucharist, since it was literally believed to be the body (bread) and blood (ale) of the god it was attributed to.

The same was true when the Islamic Arabs invaded Egypt. Many Egyptians hid inside the Coptic Church and under ground community. Doing it for preservation purposes. The Arabic language was not suddenly introduced, it has it roots in Ivri, Old Greek and Amharic. The three languages that were spoken back then. As well as whatever ancient Egyptian sounded like.

  117. Gee, it took me all of 30 seconds to find out you were full of shit, Sand Ape. That’s 30 seconds more than your idiot rantings are worth, too.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copt

The English word Copt is from Coptus, which is derived from Arabic qubṭi قبطي (pl: qubṭ قبط and aqbāṭ أقباط), an Arabisation of the Coptic word kubti (Bohairic) and/or kuptaion (Sahidic). After they invaded Egypt in 641 A.D. the Arabs called the indigenous population of the country Gypt. Up until that time, the indigenous Egyptians referred to themselves as rem.en.kimi which means Egyptians in Egyptian. The Arabic word qubṭi is in turn derived from the Greek word Αἰγύπτιος, aiguptios: “Egyptian”, from Αἴγυπτος, aiguptos: “Egypt”.

The Greek term for “Egypt” has a long history. It goes back to the Mycenaean language (an early form of Greek) where the word a3-ku-pi-ti-jo (lit. “Egyptian”; used here as a man’s name) was written in Linear B. This Mycenaean form is likely from Egyptian ḥwt-k3-ptḥ (“Hut-ka-Ptah”), literally “Estate (or ‘House’) of the Spirit of Ptah” (cf. Akkadian āluḫi-ku-up-ta-aḫ), the name of the temple complex of the god Ptah at Memphis. As the chief temple precinct of the capital of Egypt, the name was applied to the entire city of Memphis and ultimately to the country as a whole.

Therefore, the word Copt simply means Egyptian.

  118. More:

The Coptic language is the last stage of the Egyptian language.

Coptic should more correctly be used to refer to the script rather than the language itself. Even though this script was introduced as far back as the 1st century BC, it is usually applied to the writing of the Egyptian language from the first century AD to the present day.[62]

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_language

Egyptian is the indigenous language of Egypt and a branch of the Afro-Asiatic language family. Written records of the Egyptian language have been dated from about 3400 BCE,[1] making it one of the oldest recorded languages known. Egyptian was spoken until the late 17th century CE in the form of Coptic. The national language of modern-day Egypt is Egyptian Arabic, which gradually replaced Coptic as the language of daily life in the centuries after the Muslim conquest of Egypt. Coptic is still used as the liturgical language of the Coptic Church. It reportedly has a handful of native speakers today.[2][3]

Another 30 seconds, wasted. Why can’t you just take your Ritalin like a good ADD kid, Sand Ape? Nobody wants to hear this garbage, especially since you seem to lack even the computer skills necessary to fact check your babblings.

  119. Sand Ape says:

Craig, wikipedia, I’m impressed. You don’t need excuses to be your incoherent self. But God knows – wikipedia- that is so Craig of you.

ARE YOU TRYING TO STEAL THE LIMELIGHT FROM THAT GOOOF Carpet Captain? HA HA HA HA.

You clearly contradicted yourself and affirmed what I said, about who gave the name Copt to the inhabitants of Egypt; the Ancient Greeks.

    YOUR QUOTE:
“The Arabic word qubṭi is in turn derived from the Greek word.” ..and..

“Therefore, the word Copt simply means Egyptian.” So Bingo for you, that’s exactly what I said, it means Native of Egypt, meaning Egyptian mr. dildo holster.

And bingo once again with this QOUTE of YOURS:

“Even though this script was introduced as far back as the 1st century BC.”

See where i am going with this you mentally defunct fool?

I said it is was fucking ancient you moron.

But I wouldn’t worry, I don’t argue with idiots that just proves that I am an idiot too and am picking on the blog mascot.

You are poison ivy, the more we scratch you, the more excited you get and the more it spreads.

Thanks for proving what a jerk off you are, by relying on nim wit wikipedia that even pedophiles or your likes can edit once they sign up for an account. You are a buffoon Craig. Your mamma never raised no man, get over it schmitza. Only retards like you resort to Wiki-Pedia-Files sir Troll.

You are a very obnoxious bitch Craig which proves that Twosret doesn’t know your address or who the hell you claim to be because her crew would have sent you a serious gift by now if anyone knew who you were. we would have done irreversible damage to your ego by stealing your keyboard. You know the one that your fingers touch after you are done touching yourself!?

You are officially a blog virus now. So shut the fuck up already Pedia man!

  120. HOLY SHIT Sand Ape, I have never witnessed anyone fuck anyone in the ass so hard as you did CarpetCaptain. This is some wicked shit. No wonder this Sandmonkey blog gets so many hits. Fucking Awesome!

  121. Sand Ape, I do recognize that change cannot happen overnight. No single comment can eradicate years of mistrust. But I am convinced that in order to move forward, there must be a sustained effort to listen to each other; to learn from each other; to respect one another; and to seek common ground.

  122. You clearly contradicted yourself and affirmed what I said, about who gave the name Copt to the inhabitants of Egypt; the Ancient Greeks.

Dude, you can’t even read the words when somebody provides them to you? lol.

The Greek term for “Egypt” has a long history. It goes back to the Mycenaean language (an early form of Greek) where the word a3-ku-pi-ti-jo (lit. “Egyptian”; used here as a man’s name) was written in Linear B. This Mycenaean form is likely from Egyptian ḥwt-k3-ptḥ (”Hut-ka-Ptah”)

The Greeks greekified the term that the Egyptians used for themselves, and the Arabs later Arabized that Greekified form. You can use all the profanity you want, it still doesn’t change the fact that you are wrong on all counts :p

  123. Another one of the counts you are wrong on:

So to answer your question about the phonetics of that era, the answer is anybodies guess because nobody knows.

The only one who doesn’t know is you. Egyptians spoke Egyptian in the form of Coptic until ~300 years ago. And why is it you don’t know that, Sand Ape? Where did you get your education? Is it really so difficult to provide evidence of the claims you make? It took me literally 1 minute to find out everything you said was incorrect, and if you think Wikipedia is the only site that says so then I suggest you do a google search of your own. And I already knew you were wrong before I even decided to prove it, just from info I picked up reading Egyptian blogs the last few years. How is it that I know the history of Egypt better than you do, Sand Ape? How is that even possible? Just how stupid are you, bro?

  124. Wikipedia plus these 4 are the top 5 hits while searching Google on “Coptic Language”:

    http://www.stshenouda.com/coptlang/copthist.htm

    http://www.cezwright.com/books/coptic/

    http://looklex.com/e.o/coptic_l.htm

    http://www.omniglot.com/writing/coptic.htm

You know how to use Google right? Or does your ADD interfere with that?

Do you still claim “nobody knows” what language Egyptians spoke before Arabic? Because it seems to me that a hell of a lot of people know.

  125. Mona, I like your comments :)

But I think you are wasting your time on Sand Ape.

  126. Thanks, Craig. It never hurts to try.
I just happen to believe that it is easier to start wars than to end them. It is easier to blame others than to look inward; to see what is different about someone than to find the things we share. But we should choose the right path, not just the easy path. We have the power to make the world we seek, but only if we have the courage to make a new beginning, keeping in mind what has been written in this post and the other posts.

  127. EgyPeter says:

Craig – You’re knowledge on Egypt far far exceeds that of Sand Ape.

I couldn’t help but laugh reading his analysis of the facts he got from Wiki.

And to be honest, it’s mind blowing how many Egyptians are completely and totally ignorant of Egypt’s historical truth. And there is one primary reason for this and it’s Egypt’s piss poor Arab education…or should I say indoctrination that they receive from the moment they are born.

It actually scares me how little the ‘educated’ are educated in Egypt. And quit with the I love Islam and Christianity and my grandma was Christian baloney. You know what Sand Ape, ALL of your Sunni Muslim coreligionists in Egypt had Coptic grandparents at one point. ALL!!! It’s obvious with your hatred and constant references to Shia Islam that you are a full blown Sunni, so quit with the charade.

  128. EgyPeter says:

And are you sure Egyptians spoke Arabic before the Arab Invasion??? :)

Comments like that totally discredit your cause my friend.

  129. “I know there are many – Muslim and non-Muslim – who question whether we can forge this new beginning. Some are eager to stoke the flames of division, and to stand in the way of progress. Some suggest that it isn’t worth the effort – that we are fated to disagree, and civilizations are doomed to clash. Many more are simply skeptical that real change can occur. There is so much fear, so much mistrust. But if we choose to be bound by the past, we will never move forward. And I want to particularly say this to young people of every faith, in every country – you, more than anyone, have the ability to remake this world.”

Warning: O.K. if this one does not work, then Obama’s speech might not be so practical to resolve conflicts of this magnitude. Oh well, his good intentions count though.

  130. Leo, just gonna answer some of your questions from the research I did, when Sand Ape couldn’t be bothered:

What was the language of Egyptians 14 centuries ago?

    Egyptian.

Are any of you implying Egyptians were using hieroglyphs up until such a late time in history?

No, they weren’t. They adopted a modified form of the Greek alphabet for the written form of their language about 2000 years ago. In much the same way that English adopted the Latin Alphabet for the written form of English about 1000 years ago. This was the Anglo-Saxon (English) character set for the written form, before that:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Anglosaxonrunes.JPG

    Where is Egyptian language?
    How does it sound like?

It’s still preserved as a liturgical language in the Coptic Church, but that’s a bout it. And it probably doesn’t much resemble the language of 1400 years ago. English certainly doesn’t. This is only 1200 year old English:

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/08/Beowulf.firstpage.jpeg

Can you read that? I can’t. Not without analyzing each word, one by one.

Why Egyptians do not teach/learn Egyptian language?

    They got Arabized.

If Copts have language of their own, is this actual Egyptian language?

Yes, in the same way that Latin is the “actual” language of the Italians :)

  131. Roman Kalik says:

    *claps politely*

Sand Ape, your meltdown, temper tantrum, and return to the more familiar bigotry have left me, if not amused, then at least satisfied with your eternal self-destructive bend and derailing of your subterfuge, disinformation, and hatred campaign.

Keep the show going! And I see you picked up a new fan, Jeff, who is also a fan of Jeff Rense, apparently. You’ll get along just fine. Rense is right down your alley.

  132. EgyPeter says:

    Right on Craig :)

Isn’t it funny (actually sad/pathetic) that one must go to a non Egyptian for the actual history on Egypt??

Regarding the Coptic language, it was still widely spoken by the vast majority of Egyptians all the way up until approx. the 13th century. This was when the first Christian liturgical texts appeared in Arabic, and it’s not a coincidence that it basically started with the Mamluk rule of Egypt.

Now, why did the Egyptians start speaking Arabic? Because of their love of the beautiful language of their conquerors?? Uh, no. These were the same Egyptians that had resisted a millennium of occupation from the Persians in the 7th century BC till the Arabs in the 7th century AD.

If you take a close look at what the Mamluks and Ottomans did to dhimmis (religious minorities under the “protection” of Islam) in Egypt you will quickly realize why and how the Coptic language was basically stamped out and relegated to the Church. To speak a heathen language like Coptic in Egypt during the middle ages was a crime punishable by God knows what…

And to suggest to modern day Egypt to teach the Egyptian language – the one they spent hundreds of years trying to abolish – would probably get you sodomized immediately.

  133. “Egypt with its immaculate record on human rights is trying to teach them new habits and to finally leave the rat infested slums”

SandDouchebag: I honestly don’t have the time to pointedly respond to you. I barely had the time to scan your garbage based on the advice from your church janitor or whoever the fuck your mind imagined that moment. However there’s a statement that stood out. Egypts immaculate record on human rights. Go look up the word oxymoron and you might learn a fact for once. For someone who claims to be a second generation American you sure have learned fuck all but then again you might enjoy being sodomized with a broomstick in a police station since you do that recreationally at home. Is it a weeked family activity or just you? Do you guys share the same broom or does each one have their own? Who has the biggest one I’m guessing you or mom ;)

As far as the pigs you might want to listen to the presidential decree it had nothing to do with slums, garbage or any of the like. It was simply to “prevent” the spread of the H1N1 virus which the WHO said was baseless poor science before the cull started. It was just an epidemic of a racist scumbag country with a majority trying to inflict as much hardship as they could on the lowest common denominator. By the way the only person ever charged or convicted of recycling medical waste was a Muslim member of the NDP :D

Dickwad For someone who claims to be so Arab maybe you should learn to read the language although with your limited IQ I highly doubt you can make a proper English sentence.

Roman: I’m sure you realize that Jeff, the Coptic Association are different names “It” uses thinking we all won’t see through his childish IQ of about 10!

Craig and Peter thank you for answering Leo saved me having to respond to SodomApe ;)

  134. Sand Ape,

That bitch CarpetCaptain is frothing at the mouth. He obviously doesn’t know the difference between your being facetious when you said “EVEN” – “Egypt with its immaculate record of human rights” Which like the Doofus he is, he so conveniently left out the word “EVEN,” in an attempt to save face after you took his ass to the cleaners.

CarpetCaptain it turns out that YOU are the medicated piece of shit for being so deceitful. Sand Ape was polite with you for the longest time, but had no choice but to open up a can of whoop ass on you. Bringing to our attention who you really are and where you come from you descendant of slum dwellers, you first generation immigrant, mother tongue Arabic speaking fool wanna be first generation Canadian. You must really hate yourself, no wonder I thought I saw you smoking crack on E. Hastings while acquiring the services of a Vancouver skank.

    Sand Ape you rock buddy!

  135. Sand Ape says:

Jeff Buddy, you aint seen nothing yet :D

  136. Sand Ape says:

Mona, even an idiot can see that a lot of people on this blog live in glass houses.

The discussion was clearly about taking CarpetCaptain to the morgue for disposal which I did successfully. Then about the language of ancient Egypt, not about the origins of the Coptic language.

Do you see how futile it is to have discussions with close minded people who don’t even pay much attention to the topic, but are so closed minded and consumed with resentment that their only concern is to try and hurt you with personal attacks and ad hominem slander? Especially since I simply implied that many languages were spoken in ancient Egypt and if there was one main language, it is anybodies guess.

That is what Egyptologists have affirmed. No one on this blog was able to discredit this claim one bit, but in fact they proved it to be correct with their determination to retort, and retort unsuccessfully they did indeed, by arriving at the same conclusions.

I, like yourself, obviously realize that it is extremely hard if not impossible, for anyone to not get caught in this loop when veins are flowing with hate.

Obama’s speech was the greatest speech a lot of us have ever heard, but it lacked proportional consistency. How can Obama say that armed struggle wont get anyone anywhere, while he affirmed earlier on in his speech that America was born out of armed struggle against an Empire?

If there is to be peace, the perpetrators themselves – the Israeli’s as well as the Islamic Jihadists that were formed to combat such foreign occupation, are all ready to sit down to see what they have in common not how much they hate each other. With each party being completely honest with the other and refraining from disrespect.

But the Israeli’s have a flaw. They believe Palestine is ALL theirs no matter who has been living there for the last thousand years or so. Christians and Muslims have claim to Palestine as well.

Why would Obama even mention that Israel has a right to exist unless it’s claims to exist are so highly controversial – due to the manner in which it’s existence came into play. So yes enough Naplam and bullets if all are ready to concede, but unfortunately you are right. It is much easier to destroy something then to build it.

Did you read the WARNING on this blog:

“Support the Neo-con American Right-wing Zionist Christian Imperialist Conspiracy in the Middle-east! (They left out Islam in its entirety, condemning it, because that’s what racists do).

If this is your cup of tea, please enjoy your stay here. If not, please sod off.”

Nuff said already! I will admit my folly of trying to talk sense with such a bunch of people. I will reserve it for those who actually have a stake in peace.

No I cannot read it. I recognize majority of characters as Latin, some Greek too, but that is about it.

Thank you for your replies to my questions.

    Sand Ape,

I appreciate you attempt to answer my questions too and at first you were putting up convincing argument (at least for an ignoramus like myself), but your eloquent profanity turned me off. Perhaps you should try again and use different approach this time.

    Regarding Wikipedia.
Yes, it has to be taken with grain of salt, but good articles have references, which allow trying mind to confirm veracity of the wiki itself.
I personally find Wikipedia as good beginning. Let’s give credit where credit is due.
Alternatively one can always buy subscription to Encyclopedia Britannica and … still not be 100% certain.

Roman: I’m sure you realize that Jeff, the Coptic Association are different names “It” uses thinking we all won’t see through his childish IQ of about 10!

But of course, the writing style is far too similar. Which is to say, the exact same profanity. I think it’s actually a rather lame attempt at sock-puppetry, with Jeff Rense as the puppet – apparently someone our little Sand Ape admires and would like some recognition from.

  140. Sand Ape says:

The troll alliance is still as strong and sadly delusional as ever. Surviving only in numbers. To think they believe they are the only ones with opinions that matter and everyone else in the world of 6 billion people are wrong or too scared to leave similar comments against their allegiance with resentment. No wonder they are always raving about medication. Its their latent fantasy to believe that one day they won’t need their meds.

    You guys bore me!

  141. Roman Kalik says:

I know some people have mentioned it before, Sand Ape, and I know you’ve ignored it time and time again… but on the Internet, a troll is someone who attempts to derail discussions with inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic replies in an attempt to sow strife and reduce an otherwise rational debate to an exchange of emotionally charged flames.

Which is to say, what *you’re* doing.

  142. Sand Ape, Yes, I saw the WARNING statement: “Support the Neo-con American Right-wing Zionist Christian Imperialist Conspiracy in the Middle-east!” but it does say against [anything else], or does it?
Are you playing as teams or singles? Debate style or Dialogue style?

  143. Typo: but it does NOT say against [anything else], or does it?

  144. I am not an Obama fan…but it seems the speech was OK….he is trying to be the Rodney King president “can’t we all just get along”. I think the “marco” is more important than the mirco at this point…He is telling our Arab friends..”yes, guys…you have gotten a bum deal and I will treat you will more equality and respect”…Fine fine…I don’t have a problem with that really.

It comes down to, in my opinion, let’s try something new that will take years and years not to work.

  145. EgyPeter says:

    Sand Ape/Leo -

    (copied from wiki)

“Coptic or Coptic Egyptian[6] (Ⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉⲙ̀ⲛⲭⲏⲙⲓ Met.Remenkīmi) is the final stage of the Egyptian language, a northern Afro-Asiatic language spoken in Egypt until at least the seventeenth century. Egyptian began to be written using the Greek alphabet in the first century. The new writing system became the Coptic script, an adapted Greek alphabet with the addition of six to seven signs from the demotic script to represent Egyptian sounds the Greek language did not have. Several distinct Coptic dialects are identified, the most prominent of which are Sahidic and Bohairic.

Coptic and Demotic are grammatically closely akin to Late Egyptian, which was written in the hieroglyphic script. The main difference is in the writing. Coptic flourished as a literary language from the second to thirteenth centuries, and its Bohairic dialect continues to be the liturgical language of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria. It was supplanted by Egyptian Arabic as a spoken language toward the early modern period, though revitalization efforts have been underway since the nineteenth century. The number of people who speak Coptic today reaches around 300.[7][5][8]”

And the Egyptian Arabic that we speak today is unique to Egypt because of the MANY MANY Coptic language influences on Egyptian Arabic. Our Arabic is unique because of it. My mother could list off thousands of Egyptian Arabic words, unique to Egypt, that derive from the Coptic language – but God forbid Egypt try and preserve this national treasure…

-Do you support Mubarak, his son, or the NDP?
    -What is your citizenship status?
-How long have you lived in Egypt? America?
-Are you a practicing Copt? Be honest.
-What do you believe is your racial makeup?

  148. WA - NJ says:

    CarpetCaptain,
The obvious basis for your erotomanic delusion – that another is in love with oneself- is projection, the defensive operation central to paranoia. You found a more socially acceptable form of aggressive competition for the exclusivity of the object of attachment (your father in this case) through your foul language and lack of reasoning which led to your invention of a self-defense technique to over come your jealousy -online communication and anonym identity, is not-so-gay to establish a close contact with men. The jealousy comes from your sense of wounded narcissistic expectation and injustice toward the object. The formulation of the paranoid character in your case was your decision to be castrated and submit to your father’s wishes to homosexual rivalry.
So, chill out.. and enjoy your maple syrup and the free healthcare.
Take your fight where it matters.

  149. Howie,
“It comes down to, in my opinion, let’s try something new that will take years and years not to work.”
I partially agree with what you said…just from experimenting with Obama’s message here, in an attempt to resolve a conflict between Sand Ape and CarpetCaptain on a blog level and going no where…

But if the message of common ground, mutual respect and interest, human dignity, and all that does not work, what do you see as an alternative?

  150. EgyPeter says:

    Hi Hani.

-Do you support Mubarak, his son, or the NDP?
That’s a tough question. There’s little doubt that Egypt is a total mess. And the NDP, basically in power since I was born, is mostly responsible for that. So, I don’t particularly care for Muburak or the possibility of his son coming to power either. But the BIG BIG question – if it’s not gonna be Muburak or his son then WHO?? The only realistic alternative would be the Ikhwan. So if it ends up being between Gamal and Mehdi Akef then I have my pick.

    -What is your citizenship status?
    Coptic American

-How long have you lived in Egypt? America?
    Born and raised in America

-Are you a practicing Copt? Be honest.
Definitely not one of the Desert Fathers but I try :) I’m especially interested in the history of religion…

-What do you believe is your racial makeup?
    Coptic (aka Egyptian)

More than happy to answer your questions. I assume you’re asking cuz of my previous pointed posts….no problem.

  151. Sand Ape says:

    Mona,

I said I will reserve mutual respect for those who actually abide by the same rules and actually have a stake in friendship and peace. Based on that, I politely request you to re read my comment #143:

“If there is to be peace, the perpetrators themselves – the Israeli’s as well as the Islamic Jihadists that were formed to combat such FOREIGN OCCUPATION, are all ready to sit down and see what they have in common, not how much they really hate each other. With each party being completely honest and refraining from disrespect.

But the Israeli’s have a flaw. They can not do that, they believe Palestine is ALL theirs, no matter who has been living there for the last thousand years or so. Christians and Muslims have claim to Palestine as well.

Why would Obama even mention that Israel has a right to exist unless it’s claims to exist are so highly controversial – due to the manner in which it’s existence came into play. So yes enough Napalm and bullets if all are ready to concede, but unfortunately you are right. It is much easier to destroy something then to build it.

Did you read the WARNING on this blog:

    —————————————————————
So Mona – Peace is a two street. All parties have to have a stake in it and be willing to make huge concessions before the pages can even be turned. Always relying on truth and equality as being their guiding light.

In CarpetCaptain’s case, he displayed no such stake nor any mutual respect, even when a hand was extended to him.

In Israel’s case, truth is not an option either, neither is mutual respect. Israel needs a homeland by any means necessary — ANY MEANS — and by being honest and admitting they stole large portions of it — although would pave the way for some peace — but it will also open up a new can of worms. JUSTICE!

Based on the governing concept of justice – WHICH IS “RETRIBUTION” FOR CRIMES! Basically Israel will have to vacate huge portions of stolen land or pay dearly under the international laws of this planet, which is a well known fact, they refuse to do. Giving all the more power to Iran and North Korea to do the same.

A Jewish American resident of Jerusalem; a friend of mine, had this to say about Obama’s speech. Please keep in mind this is coming from the mouth of a peace activist – An Non Jihadi Jew!

    On Obama’s Speech:

    1. Obama recognized the Palestinian struggle as resistance as opposed to terrorism.

    2. He juxtaposed the holocaust with Palestinian tragedy – this really freaked out Israelis – how dare he, but he made it clear that suffering is suffering.

    3. He compared the Palestinian resistance to the occupation, to the civil rights movement and the struggle of African Americans in the US. He was critical of the violent resistance but insisted that non violent resistance is a good thing.

    4. He mentioned that Palestinian displacement and the refugee problem was a result of the establishment of Israel.

All in all not bad for an American president.

    In my opinion – BRILLIANT!

  152. Sand Ape says:

    Egypeter,

Thank you for your clarification and the expression of your opinions, which may surprise you a little bit, but actually consider valid.

Having said that, please be careful what you say.

Because I am starting to respect you for your ability to leave the “Hate Flock” and independently express your own opinions.

I admire the term “Coptic American.” I give credit where credit is due!

Peace and more power to you, just use it wisely!

  153. Sand Ape, yes, I read the statement you are referring to — “Support the Neo-con American Right-wing Zionist Christian Imperialist Conspiracy in the Middle-east!” — It does it not say against [Islam] or [anything else by the way] or does it? I mean, the fact that the blog supports something does not automatically imply that it is against something else, at least that is the way I understand it.

Just remember that we may disagree, but we will be respectful of one another, “I hope”

  154. Sand Ape, yes, I read the statement you are referring to — “Support the Neo-con American Right-wing Zionist Christian Imperialist Conspiracy in the Middle-east!” -I don’t know what to make out of it though- It does NOT say against [Islam] or [anything else] by the way or does it? I mean, the fact that the blog supports something does not automatically imply that it is against something else, at least that is the way I understand it.

And in the spirit of new beginnings, just remember that we may disagree, but we will be respectful of one another, “I hope.”
